Lakers look to sign Lucious Harris...

Postby Lakers Dynasty 2000 on Tue Jul 15, 2003 8:30 pm

The Lakers were going to get someone good with their $4.9-million exception. On the other hand, they needed help at several positions, which was why Coach Phil Jackson went to the Chicago pre-draft camp for the first time, looking for the rare rookie who might play for him right away.

Jackson had hoped Scottie Pippen might come for their next-biggest exception, $1.5 million, but now it was understood that wouldn't happen. Now the Lakers hoped to use that money for a player such as Lucious Harris.

Hmmmm... I'd take him over Pike... There's our outside shooter.

since when does Dr. Buss spend so much money?
"Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." - Kevin Garnett

Lucious Harris would be a great pickup for the Lakers. He's a great shooter and plays decent defense...

LG, I was saying I would take Harris over Pike.

Both can shoot, but Harris is younger, quicker, and can shoot and score. A couple more attributes Pikey doesn't have...

Say Pike has a bad shooting night... We don't want a Tracy Murray flashback. You know?

Harris would offer us talent, quickness, and athletisism.

I'd take Lucious too. Plus, Clippers' players, I don't know.... I like Pike... but.... I'd take Lucious.

LakersGyrl2003 also thinks PG's don't need to have great ball handling skills. I can provide a link to this if necessary. It was funny.

There will be no badmouthing other members. You can disagree if you like but no attacking characters.

First, if I don't like someone's opinion I hope I'm certainly able to state as such. Otherwise, we've got a censorship issue here.

Plus, I didn't badmouth anybody anyway. I stated pure fact, plain and simple.
Here is what I said. "LakersGyrl2003 also thinks PG's don't need to have great ball handling skills. I can provide a link to this if necessary. It was funny."

It is a FACT that she thinks PG's don't need to have great ball handling skills. She said so in a post.

I CAN provide a link to this if necessary (so that people don't think I'm making up things... THAT would be badmouthing).

I found it to be particularly humorous. The comment. Not her face, not her, the comment. In this particular post, I didn't call her stupid, I didn't call her names, etc.

Plus, by suggesting that I'm "attacking other characters", you're implying I'm aggressive in nature. That sounds like an attack on a character to me.

No I was simply stating that someone of your vast knowlledge of Basketball should not need to take part in this meaningless debacle. She said something stupid, just leave it at that. And by the way I'm not accusing you of anything I'm simply trying to make it known that any badmouthing is unacceptable on this site. We try to maintain a friendly environment on this site thats all. So if someone who maybe doesn't know alot about basketball can speak freely without the fear of getting bagged on.

LakersFan2K3,

The fact that LakersGyrl said something in a completely different topic is unrelated to the topic now. She said her opinion: she'd rather take Pike. Now if you disagree, you are supposed to express your feelings while staying on topic. I hope this information helps you in the future.

By the way ITS JOEY, you should register. Your name is very fresh.

Harris would be perfect fit......but with such an overload in the backcourt how would we address the front court depth?? but Harris, man that would be soooooo niiiiiiiiice......would we then be more open minded about trading D Fish for a PF/C

yeah, that's true, we'll have a LOT of SGs if we pick up someone else. Personally, I think we should try and get a big man that can hit the 3 (besides Cook). We have too many backcourt players right now. I don't think we should trade Fish though.

After realizing that we can get Peeler, I want him on our roster. He's a great backup and he should come back to LA to get a ring. I always liked him.

As have I, he may not be as great of a defender as "Sweet Lu" but he is a much better shooter.

The "Shaq of Mac" ehh? He's got such big shoulders yet in this case I don't see him backing up the real Shaq.
