Game 2 – Wed May 16 Lakers at Oklahoma City 6:30PM TNT
Game 3 – Fri May 18 Oklahoma City at Lakers 7:30PM ESPN
Game 4 – Sat May 19 Oklahoma City at Lakers 7:30PM TNT
Game 5 * Mon May 21 Lakers at Oklahoma City TBD TNT
Game 6 * Wed May 23 Oklahoma City at Lakers TBD ESPN
Game 7 * Sun May 27 Lakers at Oklahoma City TBD TNT

Lakers playing game 3 and 4 at Staples on Friday and Saturday? Really @NBA? REALLY?!?!

It seems as if the teams that went to 7 will have back-to-backs in the 2nd round.
Neither the BOS vs PHI series or the MIA vs IND series will have back-to-backs.

I am fearful that it will negatively impact us. We get two games at home, where we have an advantage. But if you make them back-to-back games, considering that OKC is by far the younger and more athletic team, and a back-to-back would impact them less, you are sort of taking that advantage away from us in the second game.
Hopefully that isn't how it turns out.

Been watching NBA basketball for 30+ years and I don't ever remember a back-to-back playoff game. Just weird. Wonder what the reasoning is? You would think they'd want LA / OKC on Sunday for big ratings.

ALso, I just checked ESPN. The series page does show games 3 and 4 on Friday and Saturday.

The worst thing is. They can force Westbrook into a bad shooting night, and the kid will live at the free throw line. Ditto for Durant. It's going to be a long series, as in... games going 4-hours because of all of those free throws. Last time they met in 2010, they had a +20 FT advantage in each of their wins.

It's on us ... all East teams won in less than 7 games and prevented a back 2 back...

Actually, Boston vs Philly doesn't have a B2B (Sat - Mon - Wed - Fri - Mon - Wed - Sat), neither does Miami vs Indiana (Sun - Tue - Thu - Sun - Tue - Thu - Sat).
SAS vs Clippers/Memphis schedule hasn't been released yet, and I've seen no comments of it on Twitter.

I agree that it helps that it's at home, but it also has a negative effect, it kinda takes away some part of the advantage that a home game represents.
OKC is younger and more athletic, and they've gotten a lot more rest than us.
A back-to-back will hurt us much more than it will hurt them, and maybe that advantage will even out with our homecourt advantage. Maybe it's key and they steal that game, which is something that we'll most likely not be able to afford.

Because of the shortened season and late playoff start. David Stern said that he'd possibly have to have b2b based on how long the 1st round goes and because the two LA teams had to make things interesting :man3:

Based on B2B gamaes, our core players age and their core players age, we're probably gonna have to win 2 games in OKC to win the series.

Damn, the NBA stated at the beginning of the season that every second round series would have a B2B. This is total BS if our series ends up being the only one set up as such.

As I said in the Lakers/Thunder series thread, they said this was going to happen back when the season started, because of the condensed and rushed season. Had we taken care of the Nuggets in 4, 5, or even 6, this wouldn't have happened, but we went 7, so this is what we get, should have taken care of business.

I don't know.. I think it's in our favor having the back to backs in L.A.

I also think it might be in our favor that OKC hasn't played for a week and a half. They're probably going to be rusty, at least to start. If we get at them early and beat them back we can sneak out of there with a win and come home for back to backs in L.A.

I have hope.. Pau re-inspired me.. it's obvious he can still be the best big in the game if he tries.. which also pisses me off since he can disappear as quickly as he showed up tonight.

Same here.

The only postseason b2b I can EVER remember was the LA riots one where the Clippers and Jazz had to play b2b after the delaying and moving of the Clips home game.

That was understandable. This is just another insult to the Lakers by Saperstern.

It definitely hurts the Lakers, since we have to win games 3 and 4 to hold serve. Probability favors a split, since both teams are evenly matched, and whoever wins game 3 will probably not sustain the energy for game 4. I hope it doesn't happen, but it could very well happen that we go into game 5 down 1-3.
