I wouldnt say guaranteed starts. We have 4 big men if he signs

Kaman/Hill
Pau/Odom

Logically id like to see Pau starting next to Hill. Any combination that includes Hill not starting = very very very very bad defense.

Of course, Hill deserves it. But if LO can get back to his old playing days, LO and Pau is pretty formidable.

It seems the hold up is on Lamar's part, he probably still has some bad feelings towards the Lakers. Come back home LO. :jam2:

No way Hill starts over Odom

D'antoni hates Hill because he provides nothing but defense anyways

Hill averaged 15.8 minutes per game last season under D'Antoni. It was his second highest average in his career. He also averaged 6.7ppg, which was his highest average in his career. I don't think D'Antoni hates him anymore.

When did Hill get injured last season? I don't remember him playing for MDA.

He played 29 games last season, which would mean he had to play like around 19 for 'Antoni right? Mike Brown fired at 1-4, Bernie coached to a 4-1 record, that's 10, so like 19 under 'Antoni if my math is right. Antoni definitely used him, I think even over Jamison for a bit. I could be off though, such a terrible season, I've tried to forget.

Hill's last game was January 6th. I believe MDA started coaching on the 11th game of the season. Hill played in 29 games. Looking at the stats from the 11th game onward, Hill's numbers were 15.3 mpg and 6.3 ppg and 5.8 rpg. He played under D'Antoni. (Source)

I know stats aren't the end all, be all but this is interesting (from last season of course):

Lamar's per 36 stats: 7.4 ppg, 10.7 rpg (source)

Hill's per 36 stats: 15.2 ppg, 13.0 rpg (source)

Never thought of Hill as anything special on D, really. He's just average on that end... provides some good energy though.

Odom is pretty consistent with big minutes. Hill getting consistent minutes I can see running out of gas. hes very effective in less minutes bc he goes so hard. Odom is a different player and probably a better starter with his offensive game, ball handling, and passing ability.

I'd rather have Odom start (if we sign him). Range and ability to bring the ball up the court and pass on the move is very valuable from a big man. Hill is an energy guy off the bench but capable of starting if we dont get odom

I'm going to say he has to look and think

Lakers
Pro - his greatest success experienced here and Kobe/Pau
Con - how they handled the cp deal with him finding he was traded by radio

Clip
Pro - they gave him his shot post Dallas
Con - sterling once yore down his character when he left for Miami

At the end of the day he's taking his time because last time he relied on impulse and let his emotions guide him he ended up in Dallas and regretted it

Hill has always been a 16mpg game and with injuries to boot. He may just not be capable of 20+ minutes

I'd like to see LO back in P&G.

The dude can be a rebounding machine, and he brings so many other intangibles with his versatility.

Plus, I think a reunion with Kobe and Pau would do wonders for his morale - which, hopefully, would translate to his game.

Nothing new on the Lamar Odom and Sasha Vujacic fronts. They're looking at one-year veteran's minimum deals right now.

Huh...Hill was probably our most active player on defense over the last two years.

He's great on pick and rolls, he recovers, rebounds, help defense, and he's not a terrible man to man defender, just a little undersized at center.
