Those final 6 games are absolutely brutal. But at least if we are playing well or not so good and if we know we'll make the playoffs that will be a great test for us so that we get prepared for the playoffs. (My optimistic view of our season speaking)

0-3 to start the season perhaps :man5:

I was going to post the whole article in quotes, but I think its easier if people who want to check out the article written by Mike Trudell click on the link because it contains many charts and stuff.

On a positive:

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter 4h

Every year, teams play 4 teams in their conference only 3 times. For LAL, they host DAL/DEN just once, and go to POR/NOP just once.

Unfortunately there may be more than one stretch like that next year. :man6:

I'll run some "scenarios" later and come back with a projected win total based on comparisons. I think both the methods I use were showing at midseason the Lakers would finish with 43 wins.

was watching twc sports and john ireland thinks we'll go 13-7 at worst to start the season. and likely 15-5.

shortly after, i started t wonder why this guy is allowed to cover the lakers.

Hmm...I haven't factored in all the offseason moves, but I have us at 10-10 or 11-9 after 20, peaking at 18-16, and finishing with 40 or 41 wins in that predictor.

in our 1st 20 games, we play 8 of them against teams that are definitely better than us. clippers, GS (twice), HOU, Brooklyn, Memphis, San Antonio, Denver.

in those 8, we likely go 2-6, maybe even worse depending on how kobe's doing.

the other 12 games are all very winnable but we won't win all 12, and will probably go 9-3. that would put us at 11-9, a reasonable expectation in my opinion.

he makes no effort to cover the fact that he's a huge laker homer (at least on his radio show). so stuff like that is the norm for him... :man10:

I don't mind that at all. There's plenty of guys out there who are going to talk bad about the Lakers and get plenty of coverage. Why not have a guy in our corner who gets to put his stuff out there?

yea i didn't make that as a critical comment. i like the guy too, was just explaining that any outlandish answers he may give should be taken with a grain of salt.

Oh of course. :man10: The guy has no shame when it comes to the Lakers, but sometimes I like that. It's nice to hear from a true Laker fan on the radio.

Rough stretch early on to quickly douse all our hopes and aspirations we've been building up over the offseason...

19 back to backs to cripple us throughout the season...

Then one final blow with an absolutely brutal stretch to end our miseries...

A difficult start. 19 back to back sets. A brutal finish. It doesn't look good if one doesn't want to see the Lakers in the lottery.

42 wins and 9th or 10th in the WC. In other words, forget the playoffs.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

They still make the playoffs this season. The West is more even than people give it credit for and D'Antoni will get this team a good regular season record barring another insane injury collapse.

But definitely if you're expecting a LOT from this team be prepared to be disappointed. :man10:
