Not sure if this has been out there, but radio in Chicago just said Bulls will host Lakers on Christmas Day.

Thr NBA and ABC sure like plotting story lines to draw ratings.

Pau vs his last team (Lakers)

Boozer back in Chicago since being amnestied.

Kobe vs. Derrick Rose.

Two big markets and some backstory...... Typical Christmas game.
"If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost." Winston Churchill

“The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present - and is gravely to be regarded." Dwight Eisenhower

I think we had the last couple of Christmas games at home, interesting. I like it though. Should be a good game.

And in the established and admittedly irresistible tradition of NBA scheduling with a vengeful accent on the not-so-dearly departed, Bryant will be going up against Howard on opening night and against Gasol on Christmas Day in two of the Lakers' and the league's highest-profile games of the 2014-15 season.

Although the schedule won't be officially announced until NBA TV unveils it at 3 p.m. Pacific time Wednesday, the Lakers are set to face Howard and the Houston Rockets at Staples Center on Oct. 28 and visit Gasol and the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 25, according to league sources. The games will mark the first times Bryant plays against Howard and Gasol as former teammates.

Gives us some time to gain experience together as a unit&players individually VS an established Bulls team that already has their identity&is adding a healthy(hopefully, definitely was my favorite non Laker player in the league before injuries) Derrick Rose&,McDermott who IMOPO is going to be a solid player by this date&a mysterious Pau that we will ALL see once&for all what he truly has in the tank(will be in a different system as well) w/o getting into the speculating argument. First one to 90 wins a close matchup.

OFFICAL Lakers Schedule Discussion

Postby Battle Tested20 on Wed Aug 13, 2014 11:20 am

With the NBA releasing the Official 2014-15 Schedules during the Special on NBATV at 3pm pct I thought we should have an thread dedicated for this. Let's discuss win-loss predictions, complain, rejoice, and or pretty much anything else about the Lakers schedule this year.

So far:

Rockets @ Lakers Oct. 28th (Opening Night) & Lakers @ Bulls Dec. 25th have been announced.

I always get excited about the schedules being released to see if the NBA will screw us over with back-2-backs or be fairly lenient this time.

Tough matchup but it should be exciting. Hate seeing Pau in a different uniform though.

Seriously. The screams of fading away hoping to draw a foul instead of going up strong over a 6'7 guy in the post and shrugging on defense after multiple missed assignments on his part might take me a couple trips down the court to appreciate the fact we aren't stuck with him the next 3 years.

My :pipe: :pipe: :pipe: :pipe: :pipe: scenario for opening night against Houston. Kick their bleeps and some way, some how Kobe finds an opening, shows he still has some hops, times it perfectly with a fake to catch Clown on the ground and "tea bags" Howard AGAIN......with someone catching a high quality photograph which is made into a poster. Hey, we're talking Colorado :shaq: :smoker: :pipe: . :man10: :man9: :man9: :man9:

Speak for yourself. I got sick of Gasol years ago. He was cringe worthy to watch. He lost his motivation years ago and needed a change. I'm very excited to see some new blood, young blood take his place. I know they are going to play hard.

Houston on opening day should be fun if it's in LA. I expect a victory.

Whoa there, isn't that the whole point of a forum? You speak for yourself and people either disagree or agree with you...

I always appreciated what Pau gave us, and I think he'll find a nice role in Chicago, assuming Gibson starts over him and he'll be a 6th man. This is a great game to see, mainly if Kobe and Rose are healthy. Will be interesting to see how they've progressed throughout the season. It will definitely be hard seeing Pau in another uniform, as I always loved his personality and, again, thought he did a great job here.

Had a nice grin when I saw we're playing the Rockets at home on opening night. :man13:

We also go to Boston on December 5th.

We're in Portland January 5th - I feel like those new year games in Portland always have potential to get super crazy. 2 days later, Clippers. Then a Portland rematch in LA on the 11th. In Miami the 13th, then on the 15th, we take on LeBron in LA. At San Antonio on the 23rd, and Houston comes here 2 days later. January 29th first time Pau back in Staples Center. At New York against Phil for the 1st time on February 1st... Then in Cleveland on the 8th. HECTIC month, with a few break games in between them (Phoenix, New Orleans, Orlando x2, Utah, Washington, Milwaukee) ... Looking forward to it.

16 back to backs and the Grammy road trip is only 4 games. Also starting the season with 4 games in 5 nights.

Yes, lets be happy that one of the best players we've had in the last few years is gone and that our team has been reduced to a bunch of scrubs and an old Kobe, woohoo us.

Only 16 Back-2-Backs and the Grammy Trip is only 4 games this year. Not too bad of a schedule. We do however, start out playing 4 games in 5 nights but we're the freshest to start the year.

Finishing the year off playing the Sacramento Kings in the last 2 games is nice if we need to finish strong.

At first glance, March and April look relatively easy. Should be helpful if the playoffs are within reach.

Heard on the radio the first ten games are really rough:

vs. Houston
@ Phoenix (back-to-back)
vs. Clippers
@ Golden State (back-to-back)
vs. Suns
vs. Charlotte
@ Memphis
@ New Orleans (back-to-back)
vs. San Antonio
vs. Golden State

Yikes.

Exactly. We couldn't have a better time to play 4 games in 5 nights than the first few games of the season.
