Lakers standing in Western Conf. Discussion

While it's nice to be the #3 seed, we're still only 2.5 games ahead of the #7 seed.

Definitely. The teams we will be playing against are Detroit, Washington, and Minnesota. Minny will be the toughest out of the three but it's still a very winnable game for us.

We should, but we've been sucking on the road. Of the next 6 games, 5 are away. 4 of them are back-to-backs. I hope we can carry some of this momentum and win a majority of these upcoming games. The 2 seed seemed unreachable not too long ago, but the Spurs actually aren't that far from us.

The next two games have to be wins, no exceptions.

Our March schedule is pretty easy and we have San Antonio 3 times in April. Our goal should be that #2 seed. .

And with 5 of our next 6 games on the road and the one home game being against Boston who always plays us tough, we have to keep up this winning and prove we can do it on the road and keep pace with the Clipps, stay ahead of those teams chasing us, try and catch the Spurs if possible. February: 4-5

After losing to Milwaukee on January 29th, we were 1-7. Since then, LA has won 5 of 11. Not good, but it's getting better. If we can rattle off three wins on this road trip, we'd be at 9-13 on the season and we'd have won 8 of 14. If you can win >50% of your road games, you can be a successful playoff team.

^^ Agreed. Let's get that road record up to 50% or higher. That would be huge for us.

All are "winnable" games but considering the way the crew has performed on the road they are NOT gimmes. If I were to wager on a sure thing, it should be the one against Washington.

Actually we'd be 9-12 if we win all 3 on this road trip...I expect us to be at .500 by the end of March on the road. And I expect our record to be 33-19, and hopefully closing in on 2nd seed by then. We've been dominant at home and I think that if we can end with a 30-3 record at home and a 17-16 road record, that should be enough to get the 2nd seed (47-19).

I'm projecting 46 wins... if that includes 2 of 3 from the Spurs, I can see that good enough for 2nd seed. That would be 23 wins, 6 losses from here. They'll hit another rough patch and then right themselves in time for the playoffs.

Dare I say...do we still have a shot at winning the west? I have them going 7-7 over this stretch. Losses coming @denver, san antonio, @utah, @lakers, chicago, @miami, @indy.

If we even had a decent road record we might be first in the conference. We gotta take care of biz on this trip.

Lakers got 14 road games left. At the pace they are going on the road, they'll be lucky to get half of those games.

So, with this last loss, we just went from #3 to #5.

These 2 losses will probably cost us the 3rd seed ... Clippers have now 6 home games in a row (a tough April schedule though) while we play an away game at Memphis with Z Bo back ( may take some time for the Grizz to re-adapt though

I said it earlier but I'm going to remember these 2 losses that should have been EASY wins when the season ends..I wanna see how close we are to the 3 seed or 2 seed....most likely we end up 4th or 5th. Memphis did lose tonight, and we have 2 very tough games coming up with Boston and Memphis...I think we beat Boston but lose to Memphis....ugh i hope i'm wrong. we just suck so badly on the road.

There's no reason the Lakers shouldn't end the season with the #2 seed. It's theirs for the taking. They can't afford to blow easy wins.
