Do we really even want him in 2014? By then he'll be 30, we're trying to get younger, not older.

Hopefully it's just a cover story and not one of Jimmy's pipe dreams.

The Logo never tried to pry Michael Jordan away from Chicago. He went for Shaq, who was a near superstar who had never won a ring. Carmelo, Durant, Hibbert, Rose. These guys are the right profile and level to entice to LA.

This.

L.A. used to be the place everyone wanted to play.

Baseball Cap Boy is doing everything humanly possible to reverse that trend.

We have no chance of signing him with the state our team is in, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if he left. Wade and Bosh are mostly finished and I doubt they have enough in them to win next year, if LeBron is smart he would bolt from that team and find a better situation to win more rings.

Too bad that won't be with us...Cap space isn't going to mean jack s*** when your roster sucks and your team's reputation has taken a massive hit.

Only way it happens is if Wade falls completely off this year & they don't even make it back to the finals.. Although I do expect Lebron to leave as soon as that happens, I don't know if this is the year.

Hell yes. I think he's going to be the best player in the league until 32-33 and still be a top 5 player until he's like 36. He's that good

I'll tell you more. He left 30 millions $, endorsement deals, tv shows, Los freakin Angeles and all that. If that doesn't tell you something, i don't know what will. Sure he is all about fun, not following great bigs footsteps, blablabla... but this shows more, what kind of a mess we are, than what kind of a person Howard is :bang:

Forget lebron. Go for Lillard and Cousins...Get a couple high character vets along with them to help cousins out. If cousins grows up, he will be better than howard. If you watch lillard play, he plays with a poise that few young guys play with. He's got a nasty streak. Would love both of those guys on our team. F lebron.

You can have Durant@27 in 2015.

Do we even want LBJ in two years? He would have so many mileage on him and he doesn't have the fundamental/footwork like Kobe. He relies everything on power/athleticism. How effected will he be when he starts losing all that? And he's already won 2 titles....he's not the type thats obsess with winning titles like MJ and Kobe

This. And he's not coming here after already winning two championships in Miami. Only place I see him going is Cleveland, to succeed where he failed.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

lebron isn't the future of this franchise. he'd be a short-term filler at best.

I don't see him leaving the Thunder, Westbrook is still young and they can attract good players. The only reason I can see LeBron leaving is because everyone on that team is past their prime already and can only get worse

Who knows what will happen this upcoming season? Wade looks like he's about to fall off. Bosh has been turned into a shadow of himself.

LeBron might not want to stick around over there. It might also sound weird, but he could also make even more money here as a Laker than as a Heat.

And if he gets to choose who he wants to play with, that'll be an interesting pitch. LeBron would at least entertain the idea.

And if the best player in basketball becomes available, you of course make him a pitch. Is he coming? Odds are that he won't. But he'll think about it and the Lakers can make him a great pitch/offer.

let's see how big Lebron's ego is...

offer him more money, give him the choice to pick a running mate and give him the opportunity to lead THREE different teams to the Finals

Exactly. Appeal to his ego and tell him to be another of a long line of legends in LA.

Swing for the fences again. Not sure LeBron wants to "start over" on a team that has no young pieces in place. We'll have Kobe and basically nothing else. We'll spend most of if on LeBron and can get maybe one other good player. After that It's the MLE and Vet Minimums.

Building a team in just one offseason isn't happening.

Only way I go after Cousins is if we can also get Larry Sanders.. Those 2 would be an amazing duo imo.. Cousins gets to focus on the things he likes doing while Sanders does all the dirty work.. Sanders will probably only get around 8-9M a season too, so we'd still have the ability to add a star PG.. Lillard, Wall, Rondo, Irving.. Quite a few star PG's could be available in the next 2 summers. But I don't like the idea of going after 2 big money bigs.. I'd rather just get 1 & get a young potential star SF.. I'm hoping Harrison Barnes wants out of his team option in GS next summer after losing his starting job to Iggy.. star PG/Kobe/Barnes/Sanders. If the rookie pans out we'd be set.
