I watch TV so rarely now that it's not worth paying for cable or satellite. In recent years, I only got it for the Laker games, but now I don't even want to pay that much. (Basic plan on Verizon FIOS cost me $60 for the TV part.) I just wish it was possible to pay a subscription fee just for the Laker games to be streamed over the net or something like that. Don't tell me to look for the bootleg streams: these are invariably low quality pictures with lousy video performance. Sure it's free but I'm willing to pay something, maybe as much as $15-$20/month for Lakers in high quality video. But I don't see that happening as TWC didn't pay the Lakers that much money not to be pushing their overall service (and the extra bucks) on us.
My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
--John F Kennedy
My fellow Americans, ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you.
--Neither Bush nor Obama said this, but the way things have gone in this century, they might as well have.
