LETS NOT GET OUR HOPES UP!!!

Postby Kobe's Empire on Tue Jul 08, 2003 9:08 pm

see, i am a pessimistic person, yet i think the lakers can abolish anything that lies in their path.

see, all this talk about malone coming too, u never know. and payton, he hasnt signed yet, he said he would, but a week and some change can change minds. i hope it wont and i hope malone would come to LA, but i dont want to get my hopes up.

i always think of the negative things and the worse side of things because i am a very supersticial person. (e.i. when LA came back in game 4 against sacrapmento i was laying down on my side with my head up in a very uncomfortable poisiton for at least 30 minutes) and i do believe we can jinx this.

laker fans unit, HOPEFULLY, soon, we shall crush our puiny opponents and eat them as well.

No team is nearly as equal in talent as a Laker team with Payton, Malone, Kobe, and Shaq. And Malone and Payton both know this. Don't worry, they aint going no where :man1:

Happy

Postby topcat61 on Tue Jul 08, 2003 10:17 pm

Two kinds of very happy people right now:
1) Laker fans
2) Execs from NBA, ABC, TNT, TBS, etc. Can you imagine the ratings for Laker games next year?! Plus the finals-doesn't matter who the Lakers play-the numbers will be way up over this year.

I hope we get Malone nailed dowm fast-he says he's all about the ring and doesn't want the big bucks-but I think people will be throwing money at him, taking all sorts of hits on the cap, just to keep him out of LA.
Laker fan since JW hit his famous 55 ft jumper against the Knicks, 1970. First game I ever watched. Loved the Lakers with the cool uniforms.

I'm not a big fan about ratings, cuz that's just all opinionated, u know? Like how people rate movies professionally, and I usually dont agree with what they say, but I'm sure fans of the teams that make it to the finals, will rate it high, u know??? Malone has made it known that he wants a championship more than anything.

Can you imagine the ratings for the first Laker game of the season....the ratings will blow through the roof. I am positive it will become a record setter. We got King James vs. a pissed off Kobe coming off false allegations and a newly sculpted Shaq Attaq and a rejuvinated Malone and a Gary Payton that loves to put rookie phenoms in their place (remember how the Glove went at Kobe when he first came out) This game will be a League phenomenon and I wonder if The Commish will attend or be too busy handin out our rings to the Spurms..yawn yawn. Can someone make it clear to me about what cable station will carry this game? If it is a Laker home game? If the Spurs will be given OUR rings on the same night? Mark my words though, this game will set a new record for most watched opening game ever.

YUP!! And can you imagine what this is doing to other teams right now and fans???? They're probably scrambling to do anything they can to be able to contend with the Lakers.

I think there has been a team with this much talent... the Lakers of old, the Celtics, perhaps. We'll see how it all works out.

No I don't... I've been thinking...

Name me a team of ANY era, where four Hall Of Famers were on the court at the same time, on the same team...

The rest of the NBA is probably telling themselves, that thank God Payton and Malone are old, this way we will only dominate the league for a maximum of three years, maybe four...actually that is a long time..what am I saying

LOL!! Hell, they are 2 old great players that can still dominate the NBA, and u know this!! But then the league can't look ahead of themselves too far, cuz they still got years to go, and next season to look forward to. :jam2:

man, im waiting to see a kobe and malone pick and role. thats what i have been looking forward too. someone for kobe to run a high pick and roll with. he can do it with shaq, but i mean if shaq rolls to the basket, the refs will call a charge 100% of the time, even when shaq is just running, and if kobe takes a shot, and someone on the other team pulls out a blade and cuts kobe's arm and bats it with a stick, there will be no foul called.

yes, im sure there is, but the NBA lets a few slide here and there for the other team and the refs look away and sarcastically say to each other "do u see something steve javy?" or "i didnt see anything, i flunked physicis, ahahaha[rich laughter]" then they prance around holding each others hands while singing "im a little tea pot"
