Man I'd love to have Dorrell Wright, or Trevor Ariza back. Amnesty Metta, sign Ariza.

With Kobe out I think we can add some names on the cheap that we can tread water with until Kobe comes back

PG Aaron Brooks/Devin Harris
SG Dorrell Wright/Anthony Morrow/Ben Gordon
SF Brandon Rush/Mike Dunleavy

Dunleavy would be the perfect 2nd unit SF. hes not super athletic but he can run the offense/facilitate, shoot 3s...you can put him next to Glock, Defensive 2 Guard, Hill, Clark.

something is off with your list, I know for sure Ben Gordon isn't a FA neither is Robin Lopez, he just signed a 3 yr deal last off season with NOH.

you're right the list doesn't indicate restricted and unrestricted free agents...if the Pelicans decide to decline his contract Lopez becomes unrestricted he has team options on 2013 and 2014
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_orleans.htm

Just like Metta, Ben Gordon has a player option with Charlotte. He'd have to give up $13 mil to become Unrestricted

From that FA list you posted these are the guys I like and we can go after. Of course we can't sign them all but anyone from my list I would love:

PG:
Toney Douglas (great pick and roll defender)
Will Bynum (solid, can finish at the basket well)
CJ Watson (had an off year, but a good defender and has a good 3 point shot when on)
Beno Udrih (always steady, and can do it all. Not fantastic at one thing, but solid)
Jose Calderon (Great passer, always in league leaders in least turnovers per game)

SG:
Anthony Morrow (streaky shooter, but better than anything we currently have or have had)
Ben Gordon (could be our Jamal crawford guy off the bench)
Marco Belinelli (just a solid, smart, 3 point shooter)
Wayne Ellington (I've watched a fair amount of Cavs games this year and he just shoots a great % when wide open & we'd be able to give him those open looks)
Martell Webster (last off-season rumored that we were interrested in him)
Wesley Johnson (young and athletic, needs to work on shot but that will come with practice and with Chuck Person's help)
Willie Green

SF:
Brandon Rush (with his bad knee injury this year I think this is possible signing, great 3pt shooter)
Mike Dunleavy
Chase Budinger
Trevor Ariza
Dorell Wright

PF:
Carl Landry (real solid and a known player who has given us trouble before)
David West ( have always wanted him on the Lakers. Perfect pick and pop guy)
Antawn Jamison (resign)

Morrow/Dunleavy with a healthy Nash would do wonders to spread the floor if Howard is brought back and we could still manage until Kobe comes back. Pau to Indy for Granger/fillers IF West leaves Indy. We'd be taking a chance with Granger and his knee problems but he expires like Pau after 2014 and both sides would gain solid piece.

If Pau is getting traded we need to drop some salary, we cant carry a roster with the same payroll as last year especially with all the penalties looming

I didn't know Granger expires after next year :man3: . With just learning that, I would definitely be comfortable taking that change expecially if we can get a nice filler in return (maybe West).

Indy would looks pretty nice too:
PG- George Hill
SG- Lance Stephanson
SF- Paul George
PF- Pau Gasol
C - Roy Hibbert

6th- Pyscho T

^ We don't need Dunleavy's slow a** body. We need athletes. Wright and Morrow for the wings this summer would be nice.

We need a lot of work though.

And didn't I already do all this work over in the Roster Improvement Thread like two months ago? :man10:

Dunleavy works at the SF position because Clark can switch with him on defense...not many backups out there who are SFs/PFs & big scorers anyways.

Dunleavy each of the last 3 yrs in 3p%: 40.2, 39.9 and 42.8

You did. :man12:

Dunleavy is injury prone though, so that sort of scares me. if we did sign him just can't play many minutes

Well, that's good, Must be all those other years that are stuck in my mind.

Another thing we have to factor in not just with Dunleavy but with the others guys we wan't is are they willing to take the veteran's minimum. We can't off the mini MLE to more than 1 player can we?

only 1 mini MLE available though it can be split. But the split isn't much more than minimum. all other FA's have to sign for minimum. like Jamison did. The Jamison signing was a coup for the Lakers at the time, but now given how the team has fallen down, not sure any prominent older player makes a Jamison-style move to take less money for the Lakers.

Lot of wishing and hoping, but Lakers' resources are extremely limited.

teams aren't exactly gonna be spending more on roster guy no. 8 and onward. One good thing about the CBA is it does leave some solid rotation players out in the dust and team can take advantage and sign them for cheap...Matt Barnes, Marco Bellineli, Jarryd Bayless all come to mind

Just $3 and we can split it. Last year we signed Meeks for $1.4 of the $3mil split and left the other $1.6 unsigned...

I think we have enough holes in our defense as is. Moving forward we need to pickup a younger, speedier, shooter.

I agree with this.. wright/morrow(D12 friend)/webster) are the wings we should be targeting. Shooters wont change a thing if we still get killed in transition.
