LQOTD: how many of remaining 28 are Wins?

We were 17-25

Finishing with 45 or 46 wins means we finished the season 28-12 or 29-11. Both elite winning percentages, but more importantly we need to play like an elite team. We haven't yet.

What did I say originally? 17-18?

Yup, 18 seems about right.

So, what do we have left?

@ MIL - W
@ SAC - W ( :man1: )
DAL - W
MEM - L
@ LAC - L
NOH - W
@ POR - L
GSW - W (we owe them, and it's a home game)
SAS - W (simply because Pop is going to rest every relevant player on that team)
HOU - W (because at that point the Rockets will be making the playoffs and won't care about this game, resting their PG + SG if they are smart)

I think this is fairly realistic... although we might, for example, lose tonight or in Sacto but win against Memphis because you never know with this team. Again - realistically - we can go 7-3 for 44 wins total and an 8th playoff seed.

Well the Lakers thoroughly disappointed me with those Phoenix and Washington losses...and unfortunately they didn't make up for either of those losses with a loss to GS...they will have to make up for it tonight by beating the Bucks on a 2nd night of b2b (unlikely), and also need to win either the Clippers or Portland game, as i have them losing both of those games. 45 wins is STILL possible, but they can only lose twice from here on out. But now we gotta worry about Dallas too....they're on a roll and i think they're gonna pull ahead of Utah and it's gonna be between the Lakers and Mavs for that 8th spot. And we face them one more time in April. Thank GOD that game is at home but with this team, anything is possible. :bang:

You know back when we were 17-25 I always said that if we finished the season strong at 27-13, 28-12, etc and it got us into the playoffs then it meant we were playing like an elite team and would be a huge threat in the PS. I had that to fall back on because things looked horrible

I never thought we would actually be on pace to pull that off but still look like a mediocre team. It's unreal

Our play has only marginally improved since December-January, the only difference is we don't lose to bad teams as often, we aren't putrid on the road, and can win close games. None of which are qualities sufficient enough to indicate this is a good team. An actual good team will: Win big at home and on the road against bad teams, beat good teams on the road, and either be really good offensively or defensively. Since the All-Star break we have gone 12-6 and only have two actual blowouts (vs Bos and Min) despite playing some really bad teams. That's not a good sign.

I'm surprised we actually have a shot at going 28-12 or 27-13 after sucha terrible start. I'm pretty sure everybody counted the Lakers out when they dropped 8 games below .500

While they may not make any noise even after going 28-12.....it makes you think about how much better the team can still get...and hopefully...MAYBE...their best will come in the playoffs.

So, we actually won against Memphis! That's encouraging. Maybe we can do better then my prediction (18).

Maybe but it would be tough though. 4 of the last 6 games are against playoff bound teams. I think we might be able to do this if we continue playing how we have during this mini streak:

Sun, Apr 7
@Los Angeles W (hopefully)

Tue, Apr 9
vsNew Orleans W

Wed, Apr 10
@Portland W

Fri, Apr 12
vsGolden State L

Sun, Apr 14
vsSan Antonio L

Wed, Apr 17
vsHouston W (hopefully)

Flip the Wins & losses for Golden State and Portland game, we've won in Portland only once in like the last 5 years and Golden State has beat us in Staples only once in the last 5 years. And besides we haven't won a back to back all year, I think the POR game would be a Loss. Just win the rest

I think losing to the Clippers and Blazers will still happen....but if they can just win ONE of those TWO games, that will make up for the terrible loss to the Wizards earlier. I expect the Lakers to win all of the other games against New Orleans, Golden State, San Antonio and Houston....partly because I think San Antonio will rest their starters and the Lakers are not gonna let Houston come into STAPLES and beat us after we blew the lead against them in Houston earlier this year. I think if Lakers are gonna lose, it'll be against the Blazers. We just never win against them at Rose Garden, and we haven't won a b2b game all year (only one that we won was @new orleans and that was after dropping the first game of a b2b set...we haven't swept a b2b set all year!!!!)

Portland next playoff game is against us. Other than that one, they let every other team beat them !!
Offseason's finished for my long sleeping nights. NBA is back !!

In my last post I said 44 wins for #8. We might get 45. BTW, we have a better record then Chicago. They are 6th seed in the east. :disagree:
