LQOTD: Will Dwight Re-Sign?

Re: LQOTD: Will Dwight Re-Sign?

The ONLY team he signs with is ATL.

Trade is a diff. story. A trade could work but we'd have to deal him before season's end. Highly doubt we sign & trade...though that would work out for him...max contract & destination of his choice.

But where? Clippers? Unlikely. Chicago? Not Boston. Golden State? Not their style. Or Dwight's. Really it comes down to BKN. Don't think Lakers want any pieces from them.

If we make at least the WCF, he willfully stays. If we don't, the lack of options (+Los Angeles)makes him stay.

Hell yeah he will :jam2:... and even if he won't, at least we got rid of Bynum and avoided the mistake of giving him max money :man9:

You may be right... I'm no CBA wiz.... but there is that option.... do I think it will happen... no. Did I think this team, with this talent would look this bad... no. Do I know how they will react if things don't improve.... nope.

Starting next season a team over the apron ($4 million above the tax line) can’t receive a player in a sign-and-trade transaction. Right
Read more at http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-salary-ca ... yCMSwG7.99

So the Nets & other tax teams that would be a good fit for a trade aren't options..

I think we're atleast 90% favorites to retain Dwight long term. If we don't, I see S&T to ATL as the biggest possibility. Hortford + Lou Williams or Teague.. That Pau/Hortford fit is intriguing but I'd much rather hold onto D12. We're kind of lucky he's not 100% this season.. That extra year & money wouldn't be much leverage if he was pre-injury D12. Not saying he won't get the max anywhere, but maybe he has doubts about returning to his former dominance.

Yeah I guess him saying he loves LA and being a Laker classifies as no signs.

I swear we have some really dumb fans.

Yes he will ... because all things ( exposure , salary ect) considered there is no better realistic options out there for him ...

I'm more worried about finding our next 1st option .. even as his best prior to the back pbs , D12 isn't 1st option material on a championship team .

We better pray OKC doesn't win a title within the next 4 seasons so we can sign KD in the 2016 summer

B*******.

Dwight is one of the top three or four players in the league when healthy.

He sure as hell is a #1 option on a championship level squad.

I don't think he is offensively ... especially now that he's not playing in the Leastern Conference anymore

This. His post game isn't good enough.

Now ... can he develop in to a true #1? Perhaps. There is still time and he is still young.

the only way i think he doesn't resign is if they don't make the playoffs. which i highly doubt will happen

like someone said earlier, the only team he'd sign with his ATL. brooklyn can't afford him and it's pure comedy to think he'd actually sign with dallas when they're looking like a lottery team right now. he's staying

If we don't succeed this year, we'll not get better next year without promising young players and draft picks. If Dwight wants to win LA should not be his first best choice.

Anyway, if he doesn't stay I'll not be mad at him knowing that we traded Bynum who's yet to play a single game this season !!
Offseason's finished for my long sleeping nights. NBA is back !!

Just took a Nyquil... lol

Dwight will re-sign makes the most sense

Was that a dis on our team or a bad read on Dwight's current or maybe even peak skill level? He needs to get better. Hell he needs to stop getting stripped. He needs many more offensive moves/dependable options. He needs to get rid of the Hack A Howard.

doubtful. although he didn't shoot well, so obvious he isn't feeling his teammates at all.

stares at pau after every layup pau gives and just doesn't like our team :bang: :bang:

It's getting harder and harder for me to think he will as this team keeps sucking.

I can tell he's frustrated here but where would he go. ATL?

Who's the other free agent they snag summer 2013 that makes ATL contenders?

Interesting. Never really thought about in this way.

also consider, he either will or he won't

:man12:

Well what you guys are failing to see is that there's another option which is to sign short term. Sign short term for this window that we have and bolt so he doesn't have to struggle during a rebuild if we don't win.

I don't think it's a likely option, especially given his back issues, but it's certainly a viable option that he could consider.

EDIT: (And don't you go and pretend you didn't overlook that at the time of your post now.) :man12:

and why would you bring up a short-term deal scenario when you're the one using his back issue as the main factor in re-signing?

Dall, Cp3 1st then Howard, all they have to do is dump Marion on someone for nothing.
