"Kobe named Coach of the Month."

Fixed.

It was pretty much the Kobe show up until the injury and nothing that Mike D really did. The only "adjustment" he made was for those final 2 games.

Mike runs Kobe into the ground, possibly ending his career and he's the coach of the month? WTF...

Who chooses this?

:man10: both at the selection and the reactions.... this should be good.

Like all NBA awards they are severely flawed but 7-1 is a good record and if they didn't give it to the best team down the stretch there would be cries of conspiracy....

The NBA wants us to suffer....this is job security for MDA.

Case in point of why he is a terrible coach. We had a foul to give TWICE last night. Never did we elect to use it. Never. ever. ever.

That Parson's 3? Wouldn't have happened if we fouled Harden when he was trapped on the right wing with 2 SECONDS LEFT.

Same in OT....foul to give...instead we let Harden penetrate and pick up a foul IN THE ACT OF SHOOTING

I know I'm spoiled by Phil but this is coaching basics. Even Kobe knew about the fouls to give.

Coach Vino was the coach of the month indeed.

:man3: :man10: Yeah he did a fantastic job playing Kobe 47 mins a game til he broke to save his a**, brilliant coaching, give this man a raise!

But hey, this is the regular season, and this is the same league that gave 'Antoni and Mike Brown the Coach of the Year award before. All you gotta do is ride a star and take all the credit sometimes. 'Antoni's came from Nash, Brown's came from LeBron, and this "of the month" award comes from Kobe, then Pau and Dwight.

When do we get Kobe back at full strength? Seriously I'm not joking?

:man12: On the freaking bench with a clipboard in his hand and him letting his teammates....all of them know what they need to be looking out for and prepping for. He is severely handicapped with this injury. Kind of hard to coach when all you can do is a quick cell call to Pau or Vitti and random texts. This injury sucks balls. We need Kobe back now, on the bench ready to give it his all from there.

Dan joked about turning his cell phone off a couple games ago if Kobe was going to call at the half like he tweeted or texted. But this is an interesting dynamic and Kobe has the juice in the organization. So Dan damn well better let Kobe be involved with strategy and x's and o's in the playoffs.

Kobe from his own career and from studying under the Zen Master SMOKES Dan Tony in basketball knowledge. Kobe has been playing against Pops and Timmy D. for 16 years. Timmy came in I think the year after Kobe.

I can't imagine though that Dan would think this would be good for his "look", but WTF....Mitch just said he was coming back next year, so if Dan is smart he will WIN as many games as possible and let Mamba help him "a lot" on the bench.

Who decides this award? Other coaches? if so, maybe they are thanking him D'Antoni for taking risks that ended up shelving Bryant thus not having to face the most feared closer in The League for awhile.

Deserved. I know, I know... the discussion is going to be great now. But I still want to congratulate him. Great record, we ended up higher then we expected after all this. He still makes many mistakes, yeah, but there is some good in there.

Our last coach Mike Brown is a former Coach of the Year winner, that should be enough to ruin the credibility of these stupid awards

To be fair, I thought we fouled Lin pretty hard to the ground before he passed it out and got it back and then passed it to Parsons. Of course, at the end of the game, it's hard to get a foul call unless you make it look intentional.

Chillbongo wrote:Same in OT....foul to give...instead we let Harden penetrate and pick up a foul IN THE ACT OF SHOOTING

If we're talking about the same play where he drove down the middle of the lane, I thought he got fouled on the drive, not on the shot, but the refs gave him two anyway. The announcers thought it was on the drive, too.

I thought he lacked support on here, but any posts mentioning his name on the Lakers FB page leads to him getting roasted in their comments section. Just roasted....

Screwed over by the league again. We have less political validation in firing MDA now :man10:
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.
