Mike D'Antoni Discussion: RESIGNS AS LAKERS COACH (184)

Re: Mike D'Antoni Discussion: post in 7 seconds or less

The games count the same now as they do in April. You can't make the choice to lose now, in order to win later.

The starters are running too much...but hopefully D'Antoni expands the rotation a little bit, he'll have to with this team. This isn't PHX, where he can get by with a 7 man rotation.

I'd give DJO a strong look...I think the guy can shoot, just give him a chance. More run for Duhon and less for Morris....but I do want to see how Morris handles Thomas tonight, should be a better matchup for him than DWill.

So I'm not sure if anybody else realized this but I just realized a strength of d'antoni that he does bring to the table... D'antoni has historically and in actuality has always been a great PG coach, which is the one position that the Lakers have seriously had weaknesses at for the past decade.

Don't think it's a coincidence that Duhon has started playing much better since Mike came to town.

he's also gotten more minutes....

but I agree. he's proven to work well with Nash & Duhon years ago so now is no different. also it's good to hear from Kobe that DAntoni drew up some plays during timeouts the "worked extremely well for us"

D'Antoni is much better fit for this team than Phil ever was ... don't get me wrong I wanted Phil but for different reasons ... I wanted Phil becuase he can handle egos and this team has many ... but Offensively this team is more suited for D'Antoni ... I might have wanted Phil back for O too if the last year wasn't so horrible - It seemed to me that triangle became too predictable - I mean mavs destroyed us

That might be asking a bit much. Maybe if Ron has that confidence...this might work.

But it gives me some pause.

He's going to make Ron Ron his Dudley, or Frye. Let's hope he has it in.

The problem is our bench is really not doing anything to help. We should drop some people, and go get Pietrus and Raja Bell or somebody who is available with some experience.

I don't know what offense we're running the last 2 games, but it doesn't look like a 'Antoni offense. We look like I expected the last 2 games, too old to run that offense, not sure where the team from the Suns and Rockets games went.

Morris was all over the place and Kobe looked tired bringing the ball up the court and facilitiating. If Duhon had played better it would've helped

Pringles had more energy in his postgame interview than the team did tonight.

Tonight I get that they were exhausted. However, yeah, they aren't exactly scoring 115-120. As I only half-jokingly said in another thread, I think I prefer Bernie B running D' Antoni's offense over D' Antoni's own version.

At least he's being straight with the media. Hopefully he does something about it in practice

Lakers have 2 7-footers that are being dominated by guys we've never heard of. No excuses for that.

To be fair, I've heard of Cousins and Thompson, they've been kinda dominating us for a few years now if I remember right.

Remember when Phil punched Gasoft in the chest during the Dallas debacle a couple years ago?

D'Antoni strikes me as the kind of guy who will do that sort of thing on a regular basis.

Passive slacker types like Gasoft need that sort of coaching, IMO.

This is becoming another "Portland" I think they just show up to play us like its their SuperBowl. Seriously I wouldn't be too upset about tonights loss. Sucks that we didnlt match their energy and intensity but we'll be fine moving forward
