This I like.

Hey he's figuring it out!

Nash (30)/Blake (18)
Bryant (35)/Meeks (13)
Artest (32)/Clark (16)
Gasol (22)/Jamison (26)
Howard (35)/ Gasol (13)

^Nash and Blake at the 1-2 has worked pretty well for us, I'd like to see MDA continue to run with that for stretches during the game.

While I prefer Clark at PF to SF, I think it's probably a good move considering his production drop off. I still would like to see Pau at some backup C though. Regardless, as I said in the Pau thread, this is all good news just having Gasol back in the mix. There are plenty of solid combinations available for the front line with him, D12, Clark and Jamison. MDA will have to do some mixing/matching and perhaps experiment but there's time before the playoffs begin. To MDA's credit he was able to put together good lineups and win games when Pau was out and when Dwight was out, so I think he should be able to find a groove with both of them. At least I hope so!

Having a full nine man rotation should be terrific for us in general. I think our bench looks pretty solid now if Clark can get rested up and healthy and assuming of course that Pau has no set backs.

'Antoni presser right now, talking about how Ariza was wide open for 12 3's, and how we went one on one every time down and that's a recipe to lose and we need to pass the ball around. Uh, you think so coach? Why the hell don't you draw something up other than Kobe ISO every time down then, why don't you yell at Kobe to pass, why don't you yell at Kobe to stay with his freaking man who's wide open DURING THE DAMN GAME? He can say all this crap after, but you gotta man up as coach and tell Kobe this ish during the game.

I like what he was saying, finally not making excuses and telling it like it is, but it would be nice if maybe he told it to the team to their faces, because I don't think he does.

Me, too. I don't blame him for this loss. The Lakers choked tonight. They stopped playing hard in the third quarter when they thought they had this thing in the bag. The defense was atrocious. I do wish he had put Earl Clark in for some minutes in the second half though. They could have used some of his energy and hustle. Especially with Pau tired out and Jamison injured.

you can try to tell kobe that. but honestly i think that ends up in either 1) kobe doesn't listen or 2) you alienate yourself from kobe...or both.

He's basically just taking every Lakers' ball sack and using it as a punching bag. He's putting the whole team on blast and I don't blame him one bit.

That's what I'm saying, I don't see 'Antoni chewing Kobe out during timeouts for his s*** defense. I don't see him screaming from the bench for Kobe to pass the ball around after like 5 freaking ISO plays in a row. You can say it after but not in the moment?

I just don't know if I buy that though. 'Antoni is paid very nicely to coach, so COACH. Maybe Kobe would respect him for calling him out, who knows, but it NEEDS to be done when Kobe leaves his man a million times in a row. If you alienate Kobe nothing really changes because he's clearly not listening already if 'Antoni's message before the game was the opposite of what Kobe did, and at least he would have tried and lost Kobe rather than not try and lose anyway.

It really has nothing to do with MDA's philosophies, his Suns didn't routinely give up leads like this. The Lakers don't blow out teams because they think the game is over as soon as they get a 15+ pt lead and stop trying. It's pure laziness and lack of respect for their opponent. I've never seen a team so unbelievably stupid

well nobody really knows what goes on behind the scenes. though, it does seem like he needs to take that fire from the post-game and have a 1-on-1 with kobe and crew behind closed doors...only constructively.

Typical D'Antoni, will send shots in the media and then do absolutely nothing about it.

How about putting yourself on blast and deviating from your absolutely ridiculous 8 man rotation to make a point. If you don't like how Kobe is playing...yank him! He's playing on a bad wheel and will play like Kobe if he's on the floor. If you don't believe he is 100%, then yank him and put someone else in.

But of course, he doesn't have the balls to do that....he'll just keep screaming and kicking in the media, till Kobe tells him to sit down...and he will...

Nothing whatsoever it seems.

It's the same stuff no matter who's in the coaching seat.
