Play Tawn D'Arse! Plus, Kobe is playing too many minutes.

At least Jordan Hill is playing now.

No more 12 minute runs for Kobe. :man2:

Funny, in the beginning of D'Antoni's tenure it was Hill rotting on the bench and Jamison getting time. Now the reverse. What gives?

Hill is playing better.

Hill is playing well, he stays in the rotation. I don't understand the Jamison thing, esp. not playing him in garbage time?

I liked the team effort tonight but still skeptical about Antoni and his coaching.

Don't like the limited minutes for Metta. Morris worked tonight because of the matchup with Lillard. If Pringles wants to play matchups thats fine but Metta should get most of the burn.

“@KevinDing: D'Antoni said Jamison could've played in "garbage time" tonight if he wanted, but it was up to him and he respects him too much to make him.”

“@LakersReporter: D'Antoni said Antawn Jamison is too good a player to play garbage time. He could return to rotation at some point, but out of it right now.”

He needs to play Jamison. Period. I don't care how well we're playing...he needs to be on the floor esp for the playoffs and big games that we'll be playing in later on. He needs to be in rhythm. either you ditch morris completely or you find time for Jamison at the back up 4 spot.

Kobe (15) / Jamison (15) / MWP (18)

Pau - 30 minutes
MWP - 30 minutes
Meeks - 20 minutes
Hill - 19 minutes
Jamison - 15 minutes

^Doc Brown, would you be interested in the Lakers Head Coach position?

I mean establishing logical rotations seems to be a rare commodity in Laker basketball these days.

The Portland game is how it should be.. Nash, Kobe, Dwight, Pau, Ron limited to 30 minutes. Hill getting closer to 25 than 15. Of course Dwight can play more once he's 100%. If we're going into the playoffs healthy this is how it needs to be.

Exactly. Not the BS Mike Brown pulled when he was worried that a 25-30 point lead was shrinking and sent the starters back in.

Thank god for all our raw talent. D'Antoni's rotations are the number one thing hurting us right now.

You mean besides injuries, lack of being able to play together, missed freethrows and turnovers?
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Lol, you nailed it.

Injuries and freethrows aside, I think the bulk of the other two are sympotoms from illogical and unpredictable rotations imho.

What's so illogical about MDA's rotations? Lets hear it detailed out so everyone can understand what you feel is so wrong with the rotations that Mike can't seem to get right.

I disagree ... our team is already bad on D ... Jamison on the floor would make it worse ... we badly need a backup SF and Tawn ain't that guy either ...

I'm not sure how Morris playing has anything to do with Tawn being benched ... I've seen this comment several times and I still don't see a link

Slide Kobe back to 2 and insert Jamison maybe?

I actually don't mind him seeing the backup 3 minutes. But if we're really not going to use him, then we should use him as a trade tool attached to someone. Maybe Duhon/Jamison/Clark can get us some athlete no one wants to backup the 3 spot.

Well MDA likes Kobe at the 3 so he can play Meeks with him ...

Jamison at the 3 ? Terrible fit defensively and not his best position on O ... people were laughing at Brown ( rightfully so) for playing him at SF and now some want him back at that spot ?
We don't need more bad D by putting Tawn back in the rotation

I agree with you on the trade suggestion ...we BADLY need a athletic backup SF .

Yeah I'm just spit balling ideas, that's all. I would like to see him work with Nash a little because I think they'd fit together, but right now he's not the answer to our problems. The answer to our problems would be Ebanks playing like he's physically capable of playing, he just doesn't want to/know how to mentally bring every night.

Problem?

I think the problem is that Gasol needs time at backup C with Hill at the PF during that time. Let me try to re-work it.

Nash (32) / Duhon (16) / Morris (0)
Morris (8) / Kobe (20) / Meeks (20)
Kobe (15) / Jamison (18) MWP (15)
Pau (17) / MWP (18) Hill (13)
Howard (35) / Pau (13)

The issue is that D'Antoni is not going to play Jamison at the 3 spot. I don't blame him for that decision. So, it's minutes at the 4 or nothing, and right now with Pau and Hill and Metta all getting minutes at the 4 there is nothing for Jamison. He's a nice insurance policy unless MDA changes his mind about playing Metta at the 4.

I'd do:

1 - Nash 32 / Duhon or Morris (whoever is playing better) 16
2 - Kobe 24 / Meeks 24
3 - Metta 36 / Kobe 12
4 - Pau 20 / Hill 20 / Jamison 8
5 - Howard 36 / Pau 12
I'm lost in the fog of denial!

Just put World Peace back in the starting lineup and play Jamison at the backup 4, problem solved

Nash (28), Blake (15), Duhon (5)
Kobe (28), Meeks (20)
MWP (33), Jamison (10), Kobe (5)
Pau (33), Jamison (15)
Dwight (33), Hill (15)
