Where has this Lakers team of the past few weeks been all year long? I'm not sure who to credit the Lakers's run during these past few weeks but I have to give MDA some credit. It's all about what have you done for me lately. I think MDA has gotten to know the team better and is figuring out what works.

The one major aspect about Mike D that I don't like is his balance for minutes. It's been like beating a dead horse all season, but he simply wants to run his players (that are playing well) into the ground. Yes, the roster has been spread thin, but a few minutes here and there to give some of our (older) guys a breath would have worked nicely.

Same old song and dance. I just hope that come training camp, we not only have a much fuller roster, but that minutes can be spread a little more evenly and not have any crappy 7 man rotations with a majority of those being guys over 30.

What I truly cannot understand are those who say we win IN SPITE of him. These are the same people saying we have a flawed roster. So we have a flawed roster, a bad coach, and yet we finish the season winning nearly twice as much as we lost and have momentum going into the playoffs :man10: :man10:

Maybe he's not the biggest reason for our success but the facts are he's still a cause. Even if it's a small one. Before long, someone recognized Phil Jackson sitting in the front seat, and then the rocks began to fly. Revelers pelted the bus and shook it, mocking the Lakers at their lowest moment.

lol some people on this forum. We are so spoiled, that we expect the best every single time...

Unfortunately, the NBA is changing. And with change, we must also change. We aren't going to pay three coaches in one season. Mike has done a good job considering the circumstance. Lakers went 28-12 at the end. We got the 7th seed when everyone thought we wouldn't make the postseason. He's changed his philosophy to accommodate this team (not many coaches do this). Has he been great? No, but there are few "great" coaches. But he hasn't been the worst... (what bad coaches go 28-12) after what this team has been through?

Get over it, support the guy. Crying and complaining about him only creates a negative vibe, when we should all be supporting this team to the max. He's our coach for the next couple of years, deal with it.

Look I'm happy about the 7th seed too, but we benefitted from a home-heavy schedule and not much stiff competition down the stretch.

I'll give MDA credit for banding the troops together these last two games without Kobe and pulling out some W's. The guys have been playing D and even though our offense is a joke, we got Pau in there doing magic. a month ago, he would have been riding pine. So give MDA a little bit of credit there, but that's it.

Outside of these last two games we're still not beating elite teams...Spurs on Sunday was different Spurs team than we will see on Sunday. Ginobli will be back, their rotation guys rested, but most importantly they will have scouted the Kobe-less Lakers.

Houston is hardly an elite team....we better win if James Harden and Jeremy Lin shoot 12-39....that's like 29%.

Harden was a chucker too...14 3 point attempts last night. Anyways, point being we got some help but we're still not beating elite teams. We have shown improvement but this is little to Mike D's credit.

Personally I refuse to be content with mediocrity. It's capable to support a team without supporting all of the pieces -- whether it's a player, coach, or front office. To support a team blindly regardless of what's going on isn't wise and I don't think it makes someone any more of or a better fan than someone who's critical of decisions that are made from top to bottom.

I plan to be behind this team 100% but will not be satisfied as long as this fool is running amuck on the bench.

Interesting point.... So if your team successful you win awards and are considered a good coach.... that's plausible I guess. When your team isn't successful you get fired.... again plausible...

Now what is the difference in the two situations? Success and the team. Naismith himself couldn't change our fortunes this year because, IMHO, they haven't been with the guys in the suits on the bench. Poor team construction and unrealistic expectations are to blame....

Not to say I'd want MDA to coach the Lakers if the personnel was right for a run.... only to say that his presence isn't the reason we're not the number one seed and favorites....

Meh, not news to me, I didn't expect Mitch to say anything other than that, nor the FO to start paying 3 different coaches..

I think with me personally, i'm going to give him a full training camp+healthy roster before I call for his head. Plus you can't really expect the Lakers to fire him and then add a third coach to the payroll.

Nowhere in the rules of being a fan does it say you have to like and support your coach just because. I never liked Del Harris either, I liked those teams because I grew up watching them, but not him. Was I wrong? I don't think so, he could never get us over the hump, it took Phil to do that. Phil brought in the right system, the know-how, the right veteran players like Harper, and commanded respect. Coaching matters, it's why as I pointed out yesterday, that only 9 different coaches have won titles since 1987.

Brown 1-4

Bernie 4-1

MDA 39-32

Well, you've convinced me, 'Antoni is a great coach, maybe he doesn't only deserve coach of the month, but coach of the year. Sure it only took playing Kobe ridiculous minutes to get us to that final record, sure he only realized how to use Pau and Dwight together about a week ago, sure he had to scrap everything he's ever done before and let our players do what they do best to be successful, but he sure is a great coach for learning basic things on the job and running his star into the ground.

What's with stating the obvious? We KNOW that Mike Brown was not a good coach for us. I think CL has this consensus already...

This information proves nothing. Are you okay with a .548 winning percentage?

Are you accepting a .548 winning percentage with Kobe and Dwight healthy for almost ALL games?

Who gives a f*** who the lesser of two evils is? How bout we just get someone GOOD
