I wish the Lakers would bring in an assistant to learn from Mitch like he did Jerry West.
And I hope Jim Buss is not planning on taking over GM duties once Mitch does call it a day.

I agree, though Riley is pretty good too. I think Riley's got it easier though, Arison doesn't strike me as the type of owner who would really argue with his GM (and ultimately go over him) about basketball decisions (such as coaching hires), so he probably has more freedom than Mitch.
San Antonio's GM is also very good.

its kinda funny that the spurs gm keeps his team relavent for a decade and you never hear one thing about him.
