Mitch, what will he do?

I wish the Lakers would bring in an assistant to learn from Mitch like he did Jerry West.

And I hope Jim Buss is not planning on taking over GM duties once Mitch does call it a day.

Wow..... you guys better not piss off Doc..... he might go back a year or three and find some comments made about Mitch then..... :man10:

Overall he's been a good GM. The big trades have worked out well for the Franchise, prior to this year anyway.....

I think this last offseason we didn't finish the job by leaving the team so unbalanced and shallow but when you have to have "Superstars" like the Lakers under the current rules you have to cut somewhere...... and we did.

The FA signings have been mediocre for the most part and our "Vet Min" guys haven't really produced as we hoped but as I said before....

Before we crown this guy the "best ever" lets remember that he was irate that the team didn't take Sean May over Bynum a few years back..... He wouldn't have been able to get Howard or attract Nash if he'd had his way back then.

^ But everyone learns. Let's face it the man has made his mistakes. He gave Luke 6 years. :man10:

but he's honed his craft since then. Yes the team has struggled with balance, but the bench he provided would have been good enough to supplement the starters if we'd had ANY luck with injuries.

The full team has played less than 10 games together and the stars have only played in something like 17 games together. We've had about as awful of luck as you could ask thus far.

Mitch is the best GM in basketball.

I agree, though Riley is pretty good too. I think Riley's got it easier though, Arison doesn't strike me as the type of owner who would really argue with his GM (and ultimately go over him) about basketball decisions (such as coaching hires), so he probably has more freedom than Mitch.
San Antonio's GM is also very good.

thats cause no one tells the Don what to do. The Don tells you.

its kinda funny that the spurs gm keeps his team relavent for a decade and you never hear one thing about him.

Yeah, it's been like that with the Spurs for a while. They keep playing great consistent basketball and many people overlook them. What that franchise has achieved in terms of player development and consistency of play is truly remarkable.
