Great Idea CaChooka.

Ron Artest had a shaky start, but he's looked great in the last 2 and a half games or so. I really love his defensive energy and his ability to post up. I can't wait to watch a full season of Kobe/Artest on the wing.

That new hair looks Korean...and it looks like it might spell out Lakers. Anyone know or have a full view of it?

Ron has finally become comfortable on this team in these last two games.

Artest's D has been awesome so far this season. I really wish we didn't give up that Ariza three because that would have been an awesome ending to that game. Oh well, at least we got the win.

His work on Trevor Ariza (with Kobe), Joe Johnson and Kevin Durant can't go unnoticed. I am very excited to see how this team looks at full health.

Hell I didn't watch it, but it was awesome for me that Ariza hit that shot. It would have been bittersweet if they'd lost, but since they won it was great to know that Ariza still has that ice in his veins. I sincerely hope the best for him and hope he finds his way home some way some how.

I appreciate the former Defensive Player of The Year and hope that he wins it again this year. He's the authentic and rare great player that has accepted a secondary role to be a champion. I'm glad to have him on the Lakers.

I am really surprised Ron isn't getting more praise in this thread for the game he played. I guess some members are still a little apprehensive.

John said that Artest vs. Ariza was merely a drawl because they both had 15 point. :man10: So if one player shoots 5/21 from the field for 15 points and the other player shoots 6/14 for 15 points too they are even. OK I get it now :disagree:

Ron's D has been amazing. He shut Joe Joe down. I don't think Joe made a single FG against him, at least that's what the Hawks announcers said. He made Durant work for every single shot. And he did a very good job against a much quicker Ariza.

But now that his offense game is starting to come to him, it just makes him so incredibly lethal. After he got off to a shaky start offensively, I didn't think it would magically start clicking for him so soon. It looked like a flip just switched in the Thunder game. His J was dead on and he started looking to attack.

That 3 he drained, followed by the timeout signal...loved it! He wouldn't have had the confidence to do that a couple games ago. And I'm looking forward to seeing what other celebratory moves Ron Ron has in store for us.

He's already fitting in much better than I thought he would at this point in the early season. If he keeps up this level of D, it will be a tragedy if he's not at least runner up for DPOY (behind Dwight).

Yes, he's playing better already, and we can expect him to become really comfortable in the offense very soon. No reason to wate words on his defense, really. It's always been superb, and still is.

I agree with JSM, but he still occasionally does his "hold the ball" habit. But I think that will become less prevalent as the season wears on and he becomes more comfortable with the system.

I'd love to see that timeout sign more frequently. It's a nice way to further demoralize a team that's had a bad stretch. This is the toughness and intimidation factor that we were talking about.

I hope he uses it again Denver, Boston and Portland.

He's a Laker now....so he gets all my support.

PS: I hated his guts with a passion in the Houston series. First the meltdown over the phantom shot to the throat, trying to get in Kobe's face, making the cut throat sign, then telling the story of the baller from his childhood who got killed by the broken table leg through the heart.

Yes....I know, as the meltdown progressed, the comedic value went up with it.

Ron's going to do fine here...and we are all going to love him.

That was classic. Although some people checked the story and it was actually true. But it turned out to be a lead pipe and not a table leg; and it did not go through the heart, it was a hit in the chest. So his memory is a little hazy, but the story was, essentially, true.

LOL, Ron just did his post game locker room interview pantless (he had boxers on). You couldn't tell until after the interview when he walked away. :man10:
