so we love him again?
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

I never gave up on Metta... Always thought he was a difference maker even if he wasn't scoring...

He's going to do much, much better in a system that supports taking the first open shot...

Also, let's not forget that he had a very unpublicized back problem last season that seems to be a lot better.

That + his new, all natural diet seems to have been the fountain of youth for him.... He looks great out there.

MWP has made an amazing turnaround. He's shooting like he's in Houston. So far he's being left to double the post players and getting wide open shots..... if he keeps this up that will stop and it will benefit Howard as he will just have to beat two defenders.... his and Pau's....

with the amount of 3's this guy is getting and making he should have a good season. and so far its been without Nash....can you imagine the looks he'll get when Nash is finding him and not kobe....

hes tied for 9th at like 2.2 a game....i think with Nash it can be even higher which is unreal imo

I think he'll get fewer chances actually..... he's been the "bail-out" option and once Nash is back he'll be looking for Kobe rather than Kobe being the initiator. Nash will be much better at finding the guys inside and there will be fewer "toss outs".... at least I hope so...

He has been picking up the slack for not having Nash on the scoring end and he's hitting the 3's. I'm not sure he will hit them at a 40% clip all season but he's hitting them when we need them.... which is right now.

He has been phenomenal this year. I mean he does have those nights where he tries to do too much (dribbling around, chucking), but overall what a change from last year.

Metta can still have horrible shot selection sometimes, and he over-dribbles here and there. But man, he looks great on both ends of the floor right now. MDA is the best thing that could have happened to him. He's in great shape, can run, can shoot the 3, can defend. That's just perfect.

Wow to that stat. Just wow.

He had so many 1 for 8 and 2 for 11 games last year. He had one early this year where he missed his first 10 or so, didn't he?

Good to see. Less dribbling and moving. More spot up and post up.

I still wish to God that he hit that one against the Spurs.... :bang: He can also draw more fouls, as guys are just running at him after a kickout. A fake and step into one here and there would be nice.

I hope Trevor complains enough about the losing to find his way back here next month. Ariza and Artest would be a dream for this team. Shooting the 3, rebounding, Trevor running and finishing, and both defending to close games with Kobe!! :jam2:

I love how Ron is playing but we need to cut down his minutes. Hes playing almost 35 a game and we have to realize he's older than Pau. Bring it down to the 31 to 32 minute mark. Hopefully Ebanks can fit in those minutes.

mwp has been awesome! some of those shots at the rim were just blown easy layups so 9/26 should be even better.

i would like his minutes down a bit and give some to ebanks.. judging by what ebanks did in the 5 minutes he was out there last game....he can be good for us.

Ron may be older, but he has more heart, dedication, and commitment to staying in shape and playing hard than Pau. He can handle his minutes unlike Pau without needing to coast or make excuses. He's probably only behind Kobe and truly healthy Dwight on this team in conditioning and then there's a gao between him and the rest

I think Ron is in shape and healed up right now. I think he can take 32 to 35 minutes easily. Pau is the one that needs to have his minutes cut. Bigs tend to wear down as they get older anyway. It's more about physiology than anything else. It's obvious that Pau has lost a step and seems to have lost what little strength he had..... What he needs is a "conditioning" regime next summer rather than another round of FIBA....

As for Ebanks.... I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anything resembling consistency from him.... he's getting the minutes he's earned right now....

Pau lost his conditioning ever since he took that one summer off from overseas play a couple seasons after beating Boston. He isn't a Kobe, Ron, or Dwight stay in the gym all summer type. He took that summer off came back and his hamstrings started bothering him years ago, and he's had different little sprains and aches with them ever since.

Pau really doesn't look to be in shape, even his upper body is looking worse compared to years past. I understand he has tendinitis in his knees, but that shouldn't stop him from working out his arms.

Im a little concerned about him now. 1 for 8 the other day, 3 for 11 today. We have an important 3 game road trip comin up, hopefully his shot is fixed before then

didnt shoot too well but had some big 3's to keep our momentum going. the thing is is that tonight was a jamison night and he didnt really get going like he could have...which isnt a bad thing the way jamison and meeks were playing. played good D and was active. cant ask for more than what hes bringing.

He is a streaky shooter. He's a career 34% three points shooter, but I don't know if we'll get the shooting from him consistenly enough throughout the season.
