He takes more shots then Dwight and Pau at this point. Fortunately, he compensates for it by playing no defense and dribbling a lot, which results in turnovers.

It's not his conditioning, it's not his mental state, it is his overall basketball skill level. He cant even dribble the ball!

useless. looked awesome in preseason and I actually thought he'd be great for us. I was wrong. he's just as bad as he was during the beginning of last season. at least then we were still winning.

he's ot to accept his current role as its not 2004 no matter how he feels. he's been terrible so far though. NOT the metta we were seeing weeks ago

I like the activity, but Ron, slow your role. You're not option 1 on this offense.

Though I'm sure no one on this team is sure when to shoot except for Kobe.

Metta looked good in the preseason. Now he's resorted back to overdribbling and taking ill-advised shots.

I don't want to hear anyone saying that Artest is a good defender anymore, because he is not. Hasn't been one for the last 2 years. He is useless.

He finally looked like what we expected from this off-season and pre-season. Damn.

You know me...I love to pile it on Mike when the opportunity presents itself.

Metta after the Clippers game in the postgame said that the Lakers did not have a day off for the last 8 days. In that stretch we played 3 games in 4 nights and in between we had Coach All Day Every Day work them to the ground.

It was a bad Detroit team, but that day off they got yesterday probably attributed to this blowout.

And a general rule of thumb Weez, if there's a problem, its probably Brown's fault. :man12:

I feel bad for the ball and the floor when he dribbles. It's like he's dribbling a cannon ball.

I wasn't aware because I missed the game, but it's good to see MWP play as well as he did and bounce back after an awful start to the season. He just needs to keep it up and develop some consistency.

Metta World Peace will get minutes at shooting guard, Lakers Coach Mike Brown said.

"That's going to be my second unit," said Brown. "Metta will be the two, [Antawn] Jamison is the three, [Jordan] Hill is the four and [Dwight] Howard or Pau [Gasol] is going to be the five.

Morris / MWP / Jamison / Hill / Pau....

No words to explain that 5 man unit.....

So now Ebanks AND Meeks are going to get frozen out of the lineup. :man10: :man10:

^^^ It will stop when we play semi-good teams and top level teams because they will wipe the floor with that group.

All you have to do is pack the paint and let all those guys shoot any type of jumper you want.

What???? That simply can't be true.

Morris can't shoot, can't finish, and doesn't see the floor well. He will see tons of full court pressure.

Metta -- can't shoot, can't dribble, can't finish, and can't jump.

jamison -- can't defend small athletic wings, and has trouble finishing.

Hill is a good rebounder and energy guy, but can't shoot, can't pass, and can't finish well on a break.

Gasol -- would have to be the playmaker. :disagree:

This is beyond stupid. When Meeks could at least space the floor, along with Jamison.

I hope this clown coach is fired before he totally ruins this team. Mitch and Jim can't be this stupid...

Ron at the 2? He's not a ball handler. Darius Morris has no business being on the court at all. Not sure what Mike is thinking here. We won't even make it past half court with moderate pressure. Maybe he's just thinking out loud I hope.

We have the personnel, there's no need to play guys out of position.

Morris/MWP/Jamison/Hill/Dwight is absolutely awful. Jamison is too slow at the 3 to do anything serious, and no one there can spread the floor for Dwight. With Pau, it might be a little better, but not by much.

It's not like Duhon/Meeks/Ebanks/Jamison/Dwight would be any better, right coach?

As I said in another thread -- Meeks is going to bail for sure. It's sad really, the kid can play.

In Brown's version, you have a non-playmaking guard who can't really shoot, a capable but slow defender who is an inconsistent shooter, an old 4 playing the 3 (a most athletic position where people will just blow by him) where he lacks athleticism to score efficiently, a hustle 4 who can't score and a center (Dwight) who needs someone to create for him (but no one there can) or another center (Pau) who will be turned into a playmaker for -- wait for it! -- Jordan Hill.

:bang:

And why is this done? Because Brown has noticed that this group managed to extend the lead by 3 (!) points.

Ron at the 2? Maybe it will work if he never has to dribble the ball, pass the ball, or make a make a layup with the ball...

I guess we'll see how this all pans out. :wow:

MWP can't play the two well, he needs to be strictly a SF or a PF when the other team goes small.

Morris and MWP as the back court is hilarious...ball movement will come to a stand still and dribbling like you're drilling for oil will be the norm. You can get away with it, with Gasol in that 2nd unit, but if you put Dwight in, he will go ape ish for not getting enough touches cause that backcourt will have a hard time passing into the post.
