I actually believe Ron could be effective longer-term playing at PF, even though he will be undersized against a lot of teams. He battles like Kobe and D12 and can pull down boards and has the toughness and weight/size to battle against bigger PF's. Could mean that Ebanks gets more time at SF?

I honestly believe that MDA has to have PJax-sized balls and move Pau to the bench as the primary scoring option on the second unit, ala what happened with Lamar. Either Hill or even Ron at the 4 could potentially give this team better balance and allow D12 more touches on offense.

He's averaging a steady 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.7 assists and 38.2 percent shooting from three-point range—all personal bests since landing in LA in 2009.

I just loved what I saw from Metta during the Sixers game. The intensity and excitement he shows when making a good defensive play is huge for this team. I totally understand why Kobe keeps saying how important Metta is to them being succesful. In many ways, it's Metta is for Kobe what Pippen was for Jordan.

1.7 assists is the lowest he's averaged as a Laker and more than a full assist less than his career average (2.9). :man10:

The rest is true though.

And he's playing more minutes than he ever has as a Laker as well: 35.0 mpg.

thats only if you're a laker, otherwise he'll just get stripped, kicked the ball away, etc. but end result usually a TO more often then not :man10:

& to think, we all expected him to be the weak link this season. Wish the rest of the team would have worked as hard as Ron in the offseason.. We'd be in a much different place.

C'mon man. If a guy turns the ball over 1.7 times, it's obvious that on his .7th turnover the other team is awarded only 70% of the resulting action.

Therefore if Ron turns the ball over on his .7th turnover, and the other team scores a 3 pointer, it's actually only a 2.1 pointer. And if the play results in free throws of which only one is made that point is actually only.7 points.

Unless of course the opponent shoots his 14.9th shot. Then of course the game is over and it's touchdown Seahawks.

dont mind him chucking 3's but not the type like tonight, just quick shots, not set, pretty much just chucking it whenever he feels like it but props for the D.

He's having a great year all around, he's fun to watch, consistently seems to give a damn, doesn't make the types of boneheaded head-scratcher plays he was making last season, has become(returned to being?) a three point threat and maybe his defense isn't super elite anymore it's still good enough to where he'll give you timely steals, and/or make the opposition think.

Shot TERRIBLE but it was his D and energy that makes him valuable. He had a big shot on that fader late in the game but if he shoots more consistently then i feel he'll be a huge help for us.

Im not too sure about starting him off the bench though...im all for him playing at the 4 but that can come later in the game. thats up to mike to manage rotations. Pau and Metta can be the 4 and 5 in a rotation without benching metta to start.

Also he can find room for Jamison too as we'll need his O off the bench. He was already losing confidence and this game may have shut him down. Ebanks didnt do much at the 3 today so id say play Jamison for 10 mins a game and you'd get more than ebanks

He was really one of the huge reasons we won this game. Having him come off the bench will be interesting... Someone (Roos?) pointed out in another thread that this will put pressure on Kobe to defend the opposition's best perimeter player. That's true, but it also holds him accountable on that end and FORCES him to defend better.

Not to mention, if Artest embraces this then we're going to have a serious sparkplug off the bench. Not to mention he can still close games out.

Hendersen went 6-16.

The ones who killed us were Sessions and Walker. If Kobe was defending Hendersen he did an alright job.
