The only reason why I brought it up was because now that Jim is in charge and I'm not hating him on this but he might want to control our salary a little and he can do that by using the amnesty clause on Metta.

But Real, I think your right, it will depend on if we can get good, young value back for Gasol if MGT does decide to trade him. Priority #1 though is to resign Howard and then Resign Clark!

I think controlling the salary is something the Lakers would have had to do with whomever was in charge, but yes I can see that coming into play. If we're willing to trade Gasol to save money, we'll certainly be willing to get rid of Artest to save money.

WMP is this team's blackhole. Once he gets the ball, it's not leaving his hands unless he shoots it. When was the last time you saw him throw a lob? And what's his average assist a game this season? :freak2:

I wish he was back on his meds or something. I like him as a person, but as a player he's been infuriating lately.

MWP has the offensive IQ of a caveman. "Metta steal ball, Metta get to take crazy shot, rawr! Kobe post up Barrea, Metta get in way and post up, rawr!".

He'll be back if we make the playoffs. It's the same old story every year.

Then there's the "I got the rebound so I am going to bring it upcourt myself" routine.
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

He has been a complete offensive liability for these latest 2 months ... and his D on SF constantly sucks ( he did very well on PF though).

7 M a season is enough to get you a decent SF who can hit the open 3 and play within himself.

Next time Ron gets hit with an absurd flagrant, he'll get suspended

Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times wrote:World Peace has five flagrant-foul "points" in the NBA's suspension system.

If he gets the lesser flagrant 1 called on him at any point before the end of the regular-season finale, he is suspended for one game. If he gets hit with the more egregious flagrant 2, he is suspended two games.

The only reason Metta gets as many minutes as he does is because we have no better replacement. If he gets hurt along with Hill and Gasol...thats 3 rotation players getting hurt. Can't afford it.

In summer I really hope we finally adress our awful situation regarding a useful wing player from the bench.

I hope those huge 3's sets him into the playoff Ron we've grown to know and love. That Ron is a beast, I hope he busts him out earlier this year.

He's baking right now in the oven. The timer goes off in about 15 games.

After chatting a bunch this week, Metta World Peace suddenly was in a rush not to talk to the media. Funny stuff
Reporter: "What did you think of Kobe’s dunk?"

World Peace: "I don’t know. Next question."

Reporter: "What did you think of his layup?"

World Peace: "I don’t know. Next question."

Reporter: "Wow you’re really in a hurry."

Another reporter: "What did you think of his jumper?"

World Peace: "Oh wow. Next question."

Reporter: "I’m good"

"Okay guys. I got to go. See you later. I love you guys!!"

Chris Duhon (sitting nearby, laughing): "Yeah I can tell."

Reporter jokes, "We’re going to write 'Metta declined to speak to reporters.'"

World Peace: "Please don’t do that."

Reporter: "You got to give us some quotes."

World Peace: "Q-U-O-T-E-S. I just spelled it for you. You guys can come back to my house later if you want. I have some sushi and a couple things."

And then World Peace walked out of the locker room happily into the night.

Also major props! to him for giving up the ball to Nash on the fast break. That made my jaw drop.

^ :man10: Same here. I was saying to myself "Turnover in 3-2-1 :man4: ... holy ****!!! he passed it and didn't turn it over or get blocked by the rim"

He did much better down the stretch than he did in the first half of the game. Couple triples and a couple successful visits to the paint.

The 3's I can live with, he has shown that he can hit them when needed in crunch time. The fastbreak s*** has got to stop though.
