I absolutely hate his hesitation when he gets an open 3, dribbles, fall away contested pull up.

Didn't see the game but this tweet made me laugh

mcten: Nash called for the ball twice after the offensive rebound came out to Metta. When MWP didn't pass, Steve threw hands up in exasperation

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Ron is a selfish piece of crap, can't count the number of times he blatantly ignores giving the ball up to Nash when he should.

If Nash wants the ball, get it to him. No matter who you are.

True, but he has wanted to be. PJ had to really work to get him to tone down the gunning.

There also comes a time when you need to put a little blame on Nash and Kobe. They just keep giving it to this guy time and time again! I don't get it, Nash is barely over half court and he's already giving it up to MWP, who we don't know will follow the system or break out of it and go 1 on 1.
They both keep kicking it out for him to shoot 3s. He took like 10 the previous game. At his %, that's not a good idea.

'Antoni is the one who said he wants MWP taking 10 shots a game, if I remember right, so blame him.

I'm an MWP fan, but he seems to get too many shots. Something's wrong with that offense when he ends up with the buzzer beater all the time.

Haha, I just found that article. Was posted a couple months ago.

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/11/21/ ... orld-peace

D'Antoni told the media: "He should be wide open every time. . . . He was 4-9 for threes. He's 10 a game and I told him he needs to make 4-10 every game."

With that recipe, World Peace will get "17-20 points," D'Antoni figures. But here's the problem: The artist formerly known as Ron Artest is not a 40 percent shooter from three-point range. His career mark is 34.2 percent, and this year he has made 25 of 70 (35.7 percent) from long distance.

The Lakers have attempted 20.6 three-pointers per game this season. World Peace has averaged 6.4 three-point attempts per game this season, which is much higher than his career mark. With Steve Blake and Steve Nash out of the lineup, Los Angeles does not have many three-point shooters, so World Peace may continue to get an increased work load.

Man, coaching really does change everything... sigh.

No joke, he is instructed to shoot those threes every time he's open, that is 'Antoni's offense, just think back to Phoenix and it will come back to you. Only thing was there they had guys that could make them consistently. I'm pretty sure everyone has the green light on this team, Meeks, Clark, Pau, Jamison, everyone, if you're open you shoot.

^ most of the time thats not a bad thing. But he compounds it but turning it down and dribbling it in to traffic or taking it too early in the shot clock. If youre wide open with like 6-8 sec left or less fine shoot it. Keep the defense honest. Early shooting is not necessary when your shot is not falling. Cant put that on D'Antoni.

I dont get the Hate Metta is getting. He's been our most consistent player by far out there other than Kobe. He brings it on Defense, and shoots the three ball at a respectable percentage. He deserves to be confident and maybe even cocky.... He has boneheaded plays, but then again, who on our team hasn't had a boneheaded play?

There's a world of difference in IQ levels. This is like saying "BUT BUT BUT KOBE MAKES BONEHEADED PLAYS TOO!!!!". I mean, well, he's Kobe, so that's okay... 'cause you know he'll turn it around next game. MWP might just end up like this for the rest of the year, and a lot of it goes on coaching.

The 'hate' is coming because he is the ONLY player on the team who either doesn't know how to keep the ball moving or he doesn't care to. I like MWP, he still brings defense and effort all the time, but he keeps being a ball stopper, and he keeps dribbling the ball wildly and taking bad shots. He still swings the ball sometimes so I know he really can do it, but too often the ball is stopping with him and he's trying to do too much with it instead of sticking to the gameplay of ball movement. I'm not going to get mad at him for takin open 3s though, clearly he was instructed to do that by the coach. Aside from that though overall he is shooting too much, I believe it was last game he had 17 shots to Clark's 6. Nash is a better shooter, Pau is better, MWP doesn't need to be taking the most shots on the team in any game, ever.

He was consistent, but as of late has been on a decline, with an attitude that doesn't match the results. There's confidence...then there's arrogance. Guy needs to make his open shots, period.

He's been playing the same way he's played since the OKC game. He's just not hitting his shots. He wasn't doing a great job then either of moving the ball, but he was attacking more often. Whenever we've seen him matched up against smaller guys, we'd see him take him inside and abuse him. He hasn't done that in a while.

These days he's far more likely to shoot a jumper over someone than try to drive to the rim. He's hurt somewhere, I can see it. I just don't know what it is yet. I'll wait the two months before he comes out and says "I've been playing with plantar fascitis again" or something.
Stu : "Yeah, that's an old fashioned whoopin'."

Being consistent doesn't give you an entitlement to do whatever you want, for the most part. Durant can consistently drop over 20 points a game, and shoots the 3 at a more respectable percentage. Does that give him the right to continually bomb 3's disregarding the mid-range and short-range game? No.

I think what some people are ticked off about MWP is, that the ball stops when he goes on his "iso-Ron" plays. He's got the chance to shoot it, but shuffles sideways and then takes it all the while still being contested. He's also been consistently bad butchering fast breaks also...
