MWPeace Discussion: Big Apple Bound

MWP is what he is at this point in his career, obviously. Some nights, he can't miss; others he can't hit anything. Although his effort his always there, and he's been big for us this season in many respects. However, looking at the SF position, we do need more athleticism, another shooter & defender, etc.

It's been said many times. I mean at this point if you have Metta already coming off the bench, go get somebody that can play the 2/3 instead of Morris...

Looked like someone had a little bit too much fun last night.

he may play bad some nights (partied too hard for new years we all know that to be true) but you cant not love the guy.

He had a horrible game. If the Metta showed up for the NYK game shows up tonight, we win this game. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, obviously.

To say he's been off the last couple of games would be terribly off. He's been horrendous.

And that's including the NY game he was so dominant in

This team goes as Ron goes I think. Pau just needs to be aggressive we all know that. Dwight needs to hit his freethrows. But the key of the team I think is Metta. When he is hitting his shot and attacking the basket.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

I was very glad to see MWP have a bounce back game. That sequence where he just suffocated Gallinari on defense was amazing to watch. He really is the heart of this team, hopefully he can be more consistent with this style of play once again. :jam2:

You know, Ron isn't particularly quick on his feet, but he can still make plays like that ... so being slow and old, I don't think is an excuse for the other Lakers to play NO defense.

I sure hope you're wrong. Besides this game, his last 5 games statistically have been atrocious. Actually, he was still 5/13 this game and took a couple of shots that were questionable. He's a rhythm player, obviously. Some night he has it shooting and others he doesn't offensively.

We need another SF badly. Younger, more athletic, etc. I knew this would be a problem this year. I've been advocating for a NBA starting caliber SF since last year...
