I like Metta but he need to go....he is one of the main reasons why this team play like [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.].....too slow, cant make shots, defense is not bad but not good either.....him and MDA are main problems right now..

A SF with a modicum of athleticism and BB-IQ, would do wonders for this team.

If Mitch could somehow pull that off before the deadline, it would greatly improve our chances of making the playoffs.

Who said anything about championship contender? I didn't especially if you're considering this year, IMO; I don't believe it's happening. And toxic contract? You can get a serviceable SF that would have a bigger impact then MWP.

Let me remind you what happened in 2008, though; we had a winning record with Bynum and Kobe; but nobody thought we would win the championship. You know what happened, though, on Feb, 1, 2008. We got Pau and the rest is history. I'm not expecting a player that by the trade deadline or even the summer; nonetheless, my point is when you have pieces that have defined roles in a defined system that's what makes championship teams.

Add a a young SF that can shoot and play defense and this team will be much better.

The only we are getting rid of MWP is.....

In a Pau trade we get a 1st round pick back....

We package that 1st round pick with MWP somewhere....

Otherwise he's a Laker until that contract is up.

Been saying this for weeks he should've been traded around mid Jan. His value is pretty nice at that time, his value is now at an all time low with the trade deadline comin up. SMH

shoot better and make better decisions or take a seat. he finally made a good play today on the fastbreak giving the ball up. other than that he was terrible. d was bad and although lebron is a touch assignment he at least can play solid fundamental d with his stance etc.

all he did was hit an open 3 today and that pass on the fast break. something a rookie could do. at least clark blocked a lebron shot and made him shoot jumpers

I almost expected the terrible offensive production / decision making, but what's up with his D? It wasn't like he was getting screened a lot, he was just basically owned 1 on 1.
Bodying up LeBron 40 feet from the basket does nothing for us, and only puts him in a bad spot when LeBron drives. His stances against LBJ's drives weren't good, he wasn't as ready as he needed to be and was blown by easily.
Also, considering the absence of Hill & Pau, I expected MWP to pick up some slack on the boards, start working for those (exploiting his strength) and I thought he'd average like 7-8 a game. He had ZERO tonight! And that's against the 4th worst rebounding team in the league.

I'm sure other people noticed; there was one possession where we had the starting unit in the 3rd quarter. We throw it into Metta on the left block being guarded by Lebron James. Metta fumbles and stumbles his way to an ugly shot and of course clanks it.

Why do you throw it into him to begin with? That was absolutely moronic...

Mitch really needs to find another SF. Clearly Ebanks isn't the guy we want and apparently MWP is becoming that way as well. We need a player who can hit the open shot, put effective effort into defense, and (this is very important) know his role within the team.
