Steve Nash Discussion: Retiring; Lakers Disabled Exception

I agree. He did not good on the court. He's is obviously hurting and can barely move. Just shut him down and play those D-League players instead.

Did a little better offensively, but completely loses Parker after one hard screen. LeSigh...

In the series so far...Nash shooting only 43% from the field and averaging 4.5 assists while Dwight is getting only 12 shots and shooting 62% from the field. BALLHOG!!!! :man10:

Games like yesterday are why I love players like Steve Nash. Damn was he out of it but he worked his butt off. he pushed. He tried for us...

You have to appreciate the heart he's giving us. Running him into the ground? When are you people going to realize that this is it. This is his career. This is his choice. He only played 31 minutes for God's sake. It's not like he's playing 48. He's an adult and he's capable of deciding things for himself. If he feels he can't go, he won't. He's shown that before.

This is like watching Kobe in 2011. His body just won't do it. He can't. But he's going to try and that means a lot to me.

Yeah, but that's his choice and I'll respect it. What's the alternative? Giving up? Letting Morris take the wheel? I just don't see Steve letting that happen. He's wanted to play for weeks and he saw Kobe literally have to do it all for weeks. I'm sure he's feeling guilty and I'm sure he wants to do the same for us.

Part of me hopes this ends soon so I don't have to see Nash's career come to an end on this note.

Same as Kobe, it's the coach's responsibility to sit them down. Competing is in their nature, this is what they do. We have a coach with no backbone.

So what is that now, 4 epidurals + cortisone shot + whatever else hasn't been told.

Starting to get in the WTF are you doing range.

Man just shut this poor old man down. Why are they giving him epidurals so he can hobble around in a series we are GOING to lose? Free agents aren't even going to want to sign here the way we handle player injuries.

Right now, the Lakers are just sacrificing their bodies for a hopeless season. I wish we didn't make the playoffs. At least, the players could get some rest then and just prepare for next season.

Yeah... they need to shut him down. He could literally go down again in this series with ANOTHER injury... that would be really, really bad. Let him rest up for next season, where he hopefully comes off the bench in an Andre Miller type role.

If he's doubtful AFTER all of those things, then he needs to be closed down.

And no, this has nothing to do with the Lakers and how our staff is "treating" their players. This is on the PLAYERS. Steve isn't being told by Vitti "I think you should get an epidural so you might play". That doesn't make sense.

Besides, all epidurals and cortizone shots do is numb pain. He's STILL in pain with the shots, he just can't feel it. That means whatever damage is going on in there is still happening. If I were to guess, I'd say it's some sort of nerve damage in his spine that should honestly sit him out for a long, long time. But he probably doesn't want to do it.

That's on Steve, not the Lakers or their training staff.

And again... if he's getting 3 pain killers a day just to be doubtful he shouldn't be playing. Easy as that.

Can't agree, if the Lakers staff were doing their jobs right IMO Nash would have never been shot up and asked to play, not at 39, not when he kept saying his hamstring doesn't feel right. Vitti is good, but he's not infallible, this is the team just a few years back we mocked for their ridiculous amount of sprained ankles, our medical staff has never been considered the best.
