We can't have Blake taking close to 20 shots so I hope he returns asap.

Earlier today it was nerve damage or something and an epidural, now he might play this weekend? What the hell is going on with our medical staff and the constant conflicting reports? If he plays though, great, we need as many healthy quality players as possible, and Nash is a guy that steps up in the playoffs.

We aren't gonna blow any teams outta the gym at home or on the road, so without Kobe, Nash's talents go from being somewhat of a luxury to being an absolute necessity if we're gonna pull off the upset.

Funny though, reports that he may miss the playoffs and that he looked good sprinting and is optimistic about playing this weekend? Makes sense.

Yep, knowing what I know now I can only LOL at that. Is that the year he was photographed sporting a Playboy Bunny?

"It really depends on whether the two epidurals work," Nash said. "If they kick in, I have a good chance to play.

We could really use him out there, we need someone who can create their own shot. Also, he can help get Pau/Dwight good position in the post which is something we lacked at times yesterday.

You can tell Nash was really excited about the game yesterday, and there's no question he wants to play it's just up to his body.

I hope Steve Nash Comes back in this series.Steve said there's a good chance he'll play in game 1. I hope he comes back. He is an important piece to the team. I hope he will destroy the Spurs like did in this game against the Spurs in the Playoffs. Anybody remember this?

Honestly I'd rather we have him for Game 1 :man10:

we have a decent shot at stealing Game 1. Game 2 will be much tougher no matter the outcome of Game 1.

Postby Doc Brown on Fri Apr 19, 2013 2:35 pm

Steve Nash was asked if all of his injuries this season have caused him to think about just calling it a career ...
"Nope," Nash said after Lakers practice Friday. "To be honest with you, it's been a tough year for me obviously breaking my leg in the second game and having this injury, but when I've been healthy, I've felt great, as good as I've ever felt. The biggest issue for me this year was just trying to find a niche playing alongside Kobe (Bryant) and playing with new teammates. I feel like that really started to come for me in the last month and a half or so. I was feeling a lot more confident and comfortable on how I should approach and attack. So, never did I ever feel anything but optimism going forward, but just frustration in the moment."

So, it looks like Nash has every intention of playing out the final two years on his Lakers contract until he's the ripe, old age of 41

what an immediate upgrade if he can play

i'd keep Blake as the starter and have Nash, to ease him back, come off the bench...

He needs to retire with Kobe, so that we can start over with Dwight. Hopefully land Kyrie somehow... if Mike Brown is the Cavs next coach, he's definitely coming here. :man9: :man9:

He did have a decent stretch of healthy games for a while though

The worst thing is that he's basically been an iron man his entire career. He has played in 74 games+ since the 01-02 season (62 last season in lock out).

Of course when we get him he suffers a ridiculous broken leg in game 2. Just like Malone tearing his MCL or whatever in the first 20 games in 04 after missing like 9 games total in his career prior to that.

If he's not mentally starting to check out and think retirement, then I'm fine with him staying. When healthy he hasn't been his old self, but he's still been one of our best players. While I do see injuries in his future at his age, I don't expect him to break his leg every season.
