Nah. He's a competitor. He can't call it quits because he needs to stay strong for his teammates and he's a class act who doesn't believe in quitting or half-assing.

I'm willing to guarantee this is his last year in the NBA. As much as I want him off our books, I respect him giving his 100% out there. I respect that he still has passion for the team and wants the Lakers to succeed. I appreciate that he is willing to mentor our youngins.

Time for the ceremonial trade to Phoenix for the retirement ceremony.

Steve Nash very concerned about nerve problem in his back. Reluctant even to say much because it's an "emotional" time.

This is so telling.....dude, just retire. It will help your quality of life in the rest of your life and it will help the Lakers

Nash very upset about health issues. Feels like he hasn’t been able to help his team, the worst feeling for an all-time “Team first” guy.

I do appreciate this coming from Nash, he knows he's been a bust for us

That nerve problem isn't going to go away overnight, 1 week from now, 1 month from now, 1 year from now.

The guy is just doing more harm than good right now.

^ He doesn't want to take the "easy" way out. He's a professional and wants to contribute. He's getting paid big bucks to do so.

Unfortunately he doesn't look at it like we do. Sooner or later he'll realize what he needs to do. It may just take longer than we want it to.

Yeah, I hope when he visits the back specialist tomorrow he has that realization finally and decides to shut it down for good and hopefully retire.

The easy way out is playing 10-15 minutes twice every week. The hardest part is admitting to yourself that you are done and can't play the game anymore.

Nash needs to make that decision. He thinks the back pain and nerve problems are bad now? 20 years from now.....

Its time for him to hang it up and join the Lakers coaching staff.

What the hell….. the narrator in the video above mentions "2 ruptured achilles tendons" in addition to his back. When did that / those happen?? For real? How much time did he miss or is that a whack bit of information?

I feel bad for him. He really wanted one more try at getting a ring. Last season was probably his best bet but things went terribly wrong. I know it's depressing for him as it is for us as fans watching.

It's actually amazing he's lasted this long especially with that back injury. He's one of the great point guards to ever play this game, but when you're done it's best to just retire.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially with how bad we're gonna be and Phoenix is gonna reap the benefit of it. We use to be on the receiving end of those type of trades.
