I have been suggesting the shooting/assistant coach route for a while now. He'd be terrific in this role, and I would certainly welcome this decision. He's a historically great shooter.

STEVE NASH: Nash has been with his personal physical therapist/trainer working out in Vancouver, trying to improve daily so that he can test out the back, hamstring and nerve root issues that have plagued him this season. He’ll be re-evaluated by the Lakers when the team returns from the road trip just as Bryant is.

I would prefer our own doctor do that evaluation.

He's probably making progress and will be ready to practice for full 17 minutes soon. :jam2:

Why do I have a feeling the "evaluations" will take just about as long as the time left on his contract?….

The imminency of the imminent return of Nash is not as imminent as how imminent the Lakers have been playing it.

Mike Bresnahan: D'Antoni says he hopes Nash can come back next Tuesday. Nash has been out since late November.

Nooooooo... oh wait we're trying to suck and lose, nevermind then, bring him on. Oh, wait, I want to lose WHILE developing Marshall and Farmar when he comes back, not trot out a finished former great to carry us to losing as we gain no player development from it, stay away Steve.

And he'll suit up only to tweak something completely random, like his wrist. Then he'll be out 3-5 weeks. Judging by our luck.

One more week
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

To be honest, i really want to see Nash out there again, but at this point, i am all in for developing Marshall, give Steve 10-15 minutes and that's ok, what i would like is if Nash is willing to work with Marshall of court on his game, Nash know all little tricks and that could help Marshall a lot, just to be around and pick his brain as much as possible.
Next week we could see Kobe, Nash and Pau on court at same time, it's been forever since those 3 played together.
