I'm really dreading what D'Antoni might do if Nash comes back - Marshall needs to play at least 30 minutes a night. At least.

You know what he is going to do. Fortunately, Nash won't be able to play more then 10-12 minutes.

Almost as old as Greg Oden.

I like this grizzly Nash, but lets just save him for next year. One last hurrah with fresh legs and a top draft pick :)

Unless, by "fresh legs", you mean futuristic prostheses and a brand new set of nerves in his back, then NO WAY.
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.

He should hang them up for medical reasons. This team is going nowhere. If he wants to "repay" the Lakers then make his contract more cap-friendly to the team. This is a lost season. Him trying t play out the string just adds insult to injury.

D'Antoni says Nash will play the first 6-8 minutes of the first half, rest and then do the same thing the 2nd half.

Also Farmar will probably be back for tomorrow's game since Nash will not play b2b games.

Potential starting lineup tonight will be Nash, Blake, Meeks, Kelly, Sacre

Nash starting again? Great, we'll finally get all those assists we've been lacking with Marshall... oh wait. Well we'll finally have some good defense at the 1 position... uh... oh. Uh, well we'll add the speed and athleticism we've lacked to make this offense go... hmm. Yeah I got nothin.

Seniority and playing due to your name and accomplishments is sometimes stupid in the NBA. 'Antoni and his decisions are often stupid. This does help with hen tanking though, so that's good I guess.

Here's what I want:

- Nash plays this game and has a wonderful, Steve Nash-esque game where he has 15 points and 15 assists while shooting efficiently from the field. The team wins the game resoundingly.
- Nash realizes as the game continues that his back is already hurting and that he can't do this.
- Nash retires a few days later.

Sweet.

Silver lining here:

I don't mind seniority but limiting minutes for Nash will still allow Marshall to go full throttle when he does come in. Also it creates healthy competition.

More importantly however is that the trade deadline is coming up. I'm not sure if teams are lining up for Nash and Blake, but this will show the league that they still can play and possibly add value to a team that needs that extra piece. Blake and Nash are not in our future plans, so showcasing them for a possible move doesn't hurt. Also, it doesn't really hurt our ping pong chances...at least I hope it wouldn't.

Marshall appears to be a keeper, so we already have seen what we have with him....MDA's system isn't really going to allow further growth to his passing ability. Also any chemistry he has developed with the players other than Sacre and Kelly don't mean squat since most will probably not return anyways.

The only thing I don't like is that it pretty much eliminates any chance we had at medically retiring Nash....but if that is what he chooses to do, then at least lets create some trade value for him heading into Feb. 20th.

I like your plan except the winning part...maybe he puts up those stats, his back hurt and we still lose will show him even with his best game we still suck :man1: and realize we ain't going nowhere and his back isn't worth it.

Haha, we could try to play Kelly at the 5.

Something like this:

Nash/Blake/Meeks/Wes/Kelly

Too funny. :man13:
