Just retire. FFS. Waste of time and money.

This is a f****** joke. I have been extremely patient with Nash and have witheld my comments because I felt like he was trying to do the Lakers a service by pushing himself.

At this point YOU ARE A DETRIMENT TO THE TEAM IN EVERY SINGLE WAY. We can't get a set rotation with you weaseling in the starting lineup every 3 games. We already have discussed the financial repercussions. Not to mention the disservice he is doing to himself both mentally & physically.

Nash. There is not always a perfect ending. Such is life.

He'll retire at the end of the year...instead of waiving him, my hope is Nash and the Lakers agree on a buyout...that would eliminate us having the 3 million against our CAP for the next 3 years.

Sounds like he's ready to get the stretch provision...

I can't wait for the third part in this series involving the recent issues where he's been forced to sit out again. If he's still echoing the same thoughts as in this video, then at that point it's become selfish delusion.

If it's true that we aren't going to spend our cap next season, we might as well see if we can get a buyout with him. Give him some free money for realizing he should retire and how our FO gave him an unnecessary fully guaranteed 3 year deal.

Mitch or someone I remember saying that the Lakers will probably not use the stretch provision because they want to get over Nash's contract ASAP if he continues to play. Mitch doesn't want to have to $3 million still on the books for the next 3 years for Nash's contract while we are trying to put a team around Love and maybe KD

Not gonna lie that Steve Nash miniseries is pretty cool. I hope Kobe have a camera crew film his last year with the Lakers, and I hope he puts out a documentary/movie about his life and career when he retires! :jam2:

I continue to not get why we would need to use the stretch provision. Obviously Nash in that latest video said he's either gonna play with us or have the stretch used on him, so he's not gonna do the right thing and retire, but why can't he be bought out instead? Someone with more knowledge of this educate me.

Might as well pay him the full $9 mil next season and be done with it.

I'm pretty sure any player can be bought out if the price is right. Nash probably wants all his 9 million though.

How about we use that $3mil per and make him a coach?
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

Well, he got his 10 games in. :man11: How can he not retire this offseason on his own? How can he seriously think another season of NBA ball is an option?

I wish he was off of the Lakers, he's just a 9 million dollar distraction. If you can't play more than 10 games in a season that you were as close to 100% for coming in, it's time to go.

I wish they would just tell him to hit the road or stay at home. Another season of playing a max 15 games with all the distractions and bullcrap in between is not what we need going forward.

One thing's certain: Nash wants to return next season. "I want to come back for sure," he said.

What the....okey i'm done, i'm not getting in this topic EVER AGAIN, all my respect for Nash is gone, he is just being selfish to the max.

IMO it now looks like he green-lighted the trade from PHX to sabotage the Lakers. I know that sounds completely irrational. But let's look at the facts in this situation. I mean how could you conceivably do your team any good by continuing to insist you want to play and are able to play.

^^^^ Nash and MDA don't seem to lose any sleep because of our franchise struggles ... don't forget the possibilty for Nash to see his kids was a big factor when it comes to his team choice .

As you said , to voluntarily sabotage the Lakers sounds irrational but I truly think he doesn't give a [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] about our struggles

It's the Lakers FO fault for not putting in an out in the 3rd year. They are clueless when it comes to these things. Should have been non-guaranteed or a team option. Nash is just taking advantage of the free money he gets for going to the gym and shooting around for an 1 hour every day and calling it rehab.
