Nash's body can't handle a single game, let alone an 82 game season... delusional. delusional. delusional. :bang: :bang: :bang:

So ... 11 assists in 19 minutes for an ancient over-the-hill PG who should retire.

Does that say anything about Marshall? Maybe his numbers (and even his stats as of late haven't been that great) aren't that impressive after all and might be more of a product of the system than we thought.

Or that we're talking about one if the best PG in history, who's passing would probably be the last thing to degrade.

Have other PGs passing numbers looked similar to Nash or Marshall while Pringles was in NY or Phoenix? No? Then that should tell you something.

You're talking about one of the greatest passing PGs to ever play the game here. His passing is going to be crisp even when he's 50.

I read somewhere Nash is 20-some assists away from being 3rd all time.

Who thinks he is playing to get that record? Maybe that explains him suiting it up all of a sudden? Hopefully he squeaks it out this season and can retire with some sense of accomplishment. Then GTFO of our books for next season :man1:

Didn't he say that if he was traded or we use the stretch exception he would retire? I don't think it's possible to trade him unless you're taking on a horrible contract but I think it's highly probable that he's trying to get to #3 on the all time assists list before this season is over incase we use the stretch exception on him & he retires.

It should only take him 3 games to get 20 assists if he really tries. That number is trivial, even for a 40-year old Nash.

Even if Nash can't play next year he'll still be easier to move than Gasol ! If he doesn't retire, I hope we can land someone to take us to the next level like we did with Kwarme expiring.
Offseason's finished for my long sleeping nights. NBA is back !!

^^^Zing! Haha...

Forget Shady Pines, when Steve Nash retires ... he'll be in the lap of luxury -- 'cause the L.A. Lakers star just dropped $4.8 million on a Manhattan Beach pad ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Our real estate sources tell us ... Nash had been on the hunt for a permanent home on the West Coast -- somewhere he could settle down after his NBA career. Then he found a 4,175 square foot gem just 2 blocks from the sand.

Problem is ... it's super ugly and outdated.

Solution is ... we're told Nash is gonna knock the whole thing down and build his dream house.

We're told the place was originally listed for $5 million ... but Nash was able to get the price down to $4.8 mil with an all-cash offer. Strong.

Sources tell us Nash already has a builder in mind and wants to get to work ASAP.

i've never seen anything like this in the NBA or any other sport to be honest

this is flat out ridiculous. just shut this loser down already. it's been the same thing all season long, he misses 3-4 weeks, comes back for a game, and gets hurt again

my god, d'antoni and the FO are bigger morons than i would have ever thought. these people seriously have no clue what they are doing

Anyone think we could deal Nash to the Raptors after they're eliminated from the playoffs? Would make sense on alot of levels.. Toronto should make huge marketing $ off bringing Nash back to Canada.. If Nash is able to get healthy they get some insurance at PG for Lowry leaving.. Nash might want to stay in LA near his kids but I don't think he'd diss his home country by retiring when he's traded there, he'd play out his contract.. Toronto sends us nothing but Salmons, who only has 1M guaranteed & can be bought out in time for free agency. I'm sure most of you would be all in for signing 2 of Bledsoe, Stephenson, Monroe, but I look at it as a chance to sign Melo while still being able to keep Hill & Young.

Maybe if Toronto sucked and needed him to sell tickets. They are a number 3 seed in the East with a group of young guys they should keep together and use their cap to strengthen their team.

They have no use for Nash. Much like he is here, he would be a detriment to the team and limit them from actually improving.

Well first of all, they're not giving up anything but Salmons for him. Even with Nash the Raps would only have 43M in salaries on the books next summer, so he isn't hurting their flexibility. They can still sign a max player. The Raptors have trouble attracting major free agents so that extra 8M in cap space they could get by buying out Salmons instead of taking on Nash doesn't make a huge difference for them. Playoff team or not, there aren't many players that want to play in Canada. They're only going to get good free agents by paying more than anyone else offers regardless. Definitely disagree that they have no use for Nash, as he would be a great marketing tool in Canada.

They would have 48 million in guaranteed deals with Nash (Amir Johnson is added in because they aren't buying him out)......

That's not counting Hansbrough (3.3 million non-guaranteed), P-Pat (4.3 million QO), GV (3.2 million QO)....

They have a FA in Lowry and a 1st round pick as well. 1st round pick pushes the guaranteed up to 50 million.

Are they just going to renounce those 3 players above? If they can't get FA to come there, why would they let Lowry go? Why would they let anyone walk on their team if they can't get players there? They can't sign a max player w/ Nash on the roster.

Wishful thinking.

Nash will either play out this contract and retire a Laker or he'll con somebody else into giving a contract beyong next season and retire there. He's not getting traded though. Who wants a 9.7 million dollar 41 year old man who can only play 20 minutes a game for 12 games?

Toronto has a very sharp GM. Last year he was with Denver and it was a huge mistake on their par to let him go (along with Karl). Ujirii (spelling) was smart enough to dump Rudy Gay in a great deal for the Raptors to get that albatross off from around their necks. Ain't no way he's going to be bamboozled into taking Nash.

MILWAUKEE -- Steve Nash is still experiencing nerve discomfort in his back and right hamstring and will not play during the Los Angeles Lakers' two-game trip to Milwaukee and Minnesota, the 18-year veteran said after shootaround Thursday.

"Probably next week," said Nash, who has missed the Lakers' last two games after tweaking his hamstring late in L.A.'s 117-107 loss to the Washington Wizards last week.

There's only so many ways you can call this a joke. The guy can't finish one game without getting injured yet he wants to come back for another SEASON just to get his money. Screw him, I'm sure if he retired the Lakers would find a way to take care of him that didn't involve screwing us.
