They have no use for Nash. Much like he is here, he would be a detriment to the team and limit them from actually improving.
Well first of all, they're not giving up anything but Salmons for him. Even with Nash the Raps would only have 43M in salaries on the books next summer, so he isn't hurting their flexibility. They can still sign a max player. The Raptors have trouble attracting major free agents so that extra 8M in cap space they could get by buying out Salmons instead of taking on Nash doesn't make a huge difference for them. Playoff team or not, there aren't many players that want to play in Canada. They're only going to get good free agents by paying more than anyone else offers regardless. Definitely disagree that they have no use for Nash, as he would be a great marketing tool in Canada.
