NBA PM: Lakers, LeBron After Kobe?

Hey all,

NBA PM: Lakers, LeBron After Kobe?
http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-pm-lakers ... fter-kobe/

I map out a future path for Lakers – they can keep Howard and Nash and spend on a superstar - if they let Kobe (and Gasol)
go.

Or LA/Kobe can do the one-year thing and LA go major shopping in 2015 - which may be huge if a lot of the 2014 possibilities opt-in for another year

Thanks

Eric

Sean Williams is an interesting option right now.. The guard pool is dry so I'm assuming we address that via trade.

With that 25M in 14 or 15, bringing Kobe back on 1 year 10M contracts would be a dream come true.. Offer a Lebron or Love the max & let Kobe go for 10. Why not? Hell, Pau can even spend his last 3 seasons here for the minimum.

I don't know how I would feel having LeBron here, I don't like the guy...not to mention, he was scared of MJ's shadow in CHI town, why would he come here & be in Kobe's?

lebron needs a clutch scorer, and a low post presence.

we got dwight and kobe, but i doubt he'd still come while kobes still here, but he'll need a clutch shooter/scorer if he comes here.

but no i do no want lebronze anywhere near this laker team, his persona does not fit. and basically

IT MEANS A HUGE FAIL FOR HIM AND THE HEAT. lol

Since he's a ring chaser in need of his first non-asterisk Chip, I'd allow it.

I doubt Bron or Wade come over. Granger, Melo, and Gay seem the most likely perimeter candidates. Melo is the best out of all 3 of them but his history in the playoffs leaves much to be desired.

I want no part of him in Purple and Gold. It'll be funner watching us beat him in the Finals then it would be watching him help us win a ring.

I don't think I can stomach LeBron wearing purple & gold anytime in the near future. Maybe when he's 38, then whatever.

He will stay in Miami or I can see him coming back to Cleveland if Irving becomes a dominant player ..

I think K Love to the Lakers is a good possibility during the 2015 summer ... then KD during the 2016 summer IF still ringless

Durant or Lebron would be welcome to take over after Kobe retires.

So pull a Miami come 2014 to back-up Dwight? Cut everyone that we can to sign as many big names?

I might be able to live with that by then.

Eh, I'm not ready to think about the post-Kobe Lakers yet. Two more seasons before anything can happen. I just want to enjoy the now. Can we enjoy the now?

I always say: yes to any player that can clearly improve our team (and is not a total headcase). If Bron wants to come to LA and play with Dwight... sure, why not? I don't like him very much, but he can play basketball -- on both ends of the floor. Come on: if Bron says, "I would like to sign with you guys"... how do you say no to that?

Obviously that's not going to happen next season, so we'll talk about that when the time comes. In the meantime, let's see if Kobe, Nash and Dwight can win one or two championships together.

Exactly. At that point who knows if he's still the best player in basketball, but how do you seriously say no to that? :man10:

But anyway, kray and Showtime are right. That's too much to think about. I'm still high off of the team we have now. Every time I sit and think damn our starting five is amazing, I remember we also have Jamison and Meeks off the bench... then this big smile comes on my face and my wife says," stop thinking about the Lakers so much, you're going to turn gay."

Will Klay Thompson ever be a Laker? I don't know how good this kid will end up but would love to see him here one day...
