Will do, in the moment I figured it was obvious because in my head he's almost openly rooting against Young. He's not my favorite player now or something, but I'm certainly going to defend the guy because he has played really well overall.

I think you took that wrong....

As for Young. He is what he is. For us, in our situation, he's a value but if we were a true contender and he was our 6th man I'd be a little concerned. He will be the key to our success in the Kobe-less early season both in what he does and what he doesn't do.

I don't know, read from the middle of page 18 of this thread and I think you'll see what I'm talking about.

NY is steal for us this year, for 1$ milion or how much we paying him.
I think he will average around 20 points per game until Kobe come back, because Pau and he will be first two options on offence, they will have freedom to take somewhere around 15 or maybe more shots per game.

He mostly played under control ... I'll take this preseason version of Swag Mamba for the regular season ... with better 3pt shooting

agreed. After the Dwight Howard desaster, I'd take less talent that takes pride in wearing the P&G.

Not the best night for Nick on opening night, but I love what he brings to the table. You can give him isolation sets and run him off screens, something we couldn't do with ANYONE not named Kobe for the past 2-3 years.

And I love those broken & semi-transition plays where Nick seemingly just waltzes in with a few crossovers & nails an 18 footer.

And one more thought - can anyone else (other than Kobe obviously) consistently draw fouls 15-18 feet away from the basket? I think it'll be a huge asset for us going forward. Nick got Jared Dudley to commit a pair of silly fouls last night, and pretty much opened the door for Xavier Henry to start attacking the basket in the 2nd half.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

I'd be weary of the way he "kinda" kicks out his legs on shots. It's not so much Reggie Miller status, but his go forward when he shoots. Not sure who the refs will take to that.

He missed some shots he would usually make too.I want to see a little less showboating from him, a few crosses okay, but i don't need to see those behind the back dribbles or multiple between the legs going no where dribbles save em for garbage time.

i don't have a problem with Nick's game last night. he didn't shoot well, but nobody said he was going to shoot well every night. he brought his swag, got to the FT line and was one of the most vocal guys when our bench was making that run. if they play with that heart all year this will easily be one of my favorite Lakers teams to watch.

If he can convince the refs that that is his regular motion, he 'may' get the benefit of the doubt each and every time :man1:

Breakdown of the Clippers game ... Coach Nick calls his shots selection out and his poor effort on D ... destroying Griffin and praising Xavier too

He exhibits poor shot selection and discipline on both ends. he likes to go between the legs a lot, for some reason I can't fathom.

He's a journeyman who thinks he's a star. He is mistaken.
