We should be able to offer him $5M. I think he's worth it.

you guys do realize the bigger the # he puts up the higher his price tag is gona be after this season right?

He's not going to get anything more than 4-5 million dollars.

Clark got $4mill for having a solid 20-30game stretch last year and you think Young wont get anymore than that?

No I don't. He didn't get paid after he left the Wizards/Clips, he didn't get paid after he left Philly. Jamal Crawford makes 5 million, that's a good gauge for his FA value IMO. And add in the fact that Young has the Nate Robinson stigma that teams don''t want to pay him, yea I'd say 4-5 million will keep him in LA.

Yeah, in the new CBA Nick is more like a 3-4m player until he can prove over an entire season he is more than a straight chucker.

Thorton got 8-9 million for being a chucker for a good 2 seasons or so after the new CBA, there's always an idiot of a GM that will overpay just cause they got nothing better to do with their money.

Swaggy will wear new NIKE KOBE IX shoes vs Heat on Thursday :man1: can't wait to see those actually in game.
He is only one wearing latest Kobe's, last night he was the only player in the league with MLK Kobe 8's.
I'm glad Kobe is working with Nick, and all this shoe game is kinda cool from Kobe and Nike.

Anyone noticing Swaggy going to the baseline jumper in the clutch? Kobe's go-to shot almost every time at the end of games?

That one against the Bulls, Kobe's look on his face like "I told you". Looks like Nick's developing a relationship with the Mamba, learning more of what he can do. Perhaps a good sign that Nick would want to stay.

Swag seemed off tonight. Must of been partying a little too much in Miami.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

What could Nick Young's market be this summer? An NBA agent close to the Los Angeles Lakers said it's "very possible" it could be between $6 and $8 million for 2014-15. "He's helped himself out tremendously," the agent said. "Two-guards are a premium in this league."

I think we can offer 5. Maybe 6, but that's a big maybe. Hopefully, he's willing to give us a discount.

If we are comparing him to players like Crawford and JR Smith, he'll be looking to get ~$5M, multiple years.

I think that's a big part of what went into the thinking of signing Kobe to this big contract the next two years. Say to players like Young "Look how we take care of our players" with a wink and a nod to a future payday.

Yup. I would hope he takes 15M for 3 years. He is in his prime now, playing really well. It would be nice to have him score for us off the bench for the next 3 years.

Ditto on the $5-6 per figure. But, I think we should heavily front load the deal. $9MM this season and 3 the following 2. Helps preserve cap summers of 15 and 16. Same idea with J Chill.
