I know he loves LA and that his personality and lovable spirit should be in LA but I get a little worried because he sees all this losing and might not want to come back. idk.... thisi s just a fear of mine.

Nick Young's off season agenda is going to be abotu getting paid. He's on a minimum deal playing like a 6th man on a championship level team. He is going to want to be paid accordingly. I don't blame him.

In no way shape or form do I see us losing games be a factor. He wants to get paid and deservedly so. He wants to be a Laker and for damn good reason. He'll probably take slightly less just to be a Laker but us losing games IMO has no factor in his decision. He knows we will be right back at the top.

If we lose out on Young, then whatever. We need a superstar right now, not a 6th man. If Nick gets a great offer then I hope he takes it and I wish him well. We need a guy who can win us a game on any given day and Nick isn't that guy. I love what he's given us, but that's alright.

Everyone on the squad not named Bryant including Young know this is audition on a single year contract. He's been positive but the rebuild is more than about him at the moment.

I would add that it's why we got some of them so cheap. Most televised and covered team in the league = a lot of exposure. If they play well they will get that money left on the table back and a multi-year deal. Young has played very consistent compared to his past. The year isn't over yet but if it were today I can see him getting a 4 year deal at 4 M per at a minimum. I definitely don't see him risking injury or a relapse to his previous "journeyman" self by taking another low end 1 year deal.

X's injury might help us getting him to re-up for cheap. Wes hasn't progressed and will most likely be on a 1 year deal or out of the league next year. Williams is already gone. Farmar is the one in a position of real need and in a position that we may offer him a longer term deal to keep him IMHO.

I think, the players could care less... I'm guessing they know they won't be here by the trade deadline or off-season...

He was correct in calling out his punk a$$ teammates. That makes me more of a Swaggy P fan. Just shows further proof of how this team is not a team, and definitely not a Lakers team. I will be glad when this D league exhibition season is over. Still can't accept that jimmy boy put this s--t on the floor. He needs to just disappear and let some professionals run this organization.

Kaman, Kelly, Marshall and Meeks were on the floor...those were the teammates he's talking about.

I like Nick Young a lot and wish that he was like 2 or 3 years younger and we had him firmly in our grasp to capitalize on his prime. As it stands, he's (conditionally) probably as good as he'll ever be right now and the timing is just really awkward against all that has happened to the team this season. Before he came to LA, I liked Nick Young in the same way you like a player like Shannon Brown, appreciated his effort and energy and hustle but also think he's kind of a 'low IQ' dummy, but since he's been thrust into the role he's in now, you start to get a sense that he could lead a team with the right personnel(coaching and players) in place or at least be an invaluable piece to a top tier team.

Like so many other pieces of our squad right now though the timing is just really bad for any gems we might have, it's going to take so much to get this team back in working order that bright spots like Young might dim a bit by the time it's happened(if we even retain him)

I agree with Young, its really sad to see a guy take on a whole team like with no one trying to help. Doesn't seem like a "team".

I loved how he popped back up and got into it with Len. That was a bush league move by Len, and i'm glad he didn't just take it. He showed some pride, unlike the rest of the guys out there. We got punked, and nobody had our guys back. Tells you a lot about our front court right now actually. Ryan Kelly, and Kaman are out there letting Phoenix set up a layup drill, of course they aren't going to get into it. Kelly attempted to help Young up, and then bailed out once things got heated.

Nick Young is right, it's kinda awkward and shame to see that not a single teammate from the Lakers stand up and come to him, it's basically leaving him all by himself facing and surrounded by Suns players, 1v4

This really pissed me off, make me kinda missed Artest and Odom. :disagree:

@Mike_Bresnahan 11m

Forget Nick Young for a sec, Lakers also privately concerned Jordan Hill will be suspended one game for leaving the bench during skirmish.

This is probably what Marshall was pissed off about.

Yes Nick is definitely correct, Kelly was the only person in the frame but then been tugged out quickly, when the time you saw all 5 Suns players rushed and went exactly at Nick, you see our players (Kaman, Marshall and Meeks) standing in the backcourt and walking very slowly toward the scene, basically leaving Nick to face and fend with all the Suns players, smh.

Looking at Swaggy's video, it's embarrassing that no one had his back. No enforcer. Metta wouldn't have let that happen.

You know Jordan Hill would definitely be the first one stepped in in that situation if he was on the court that time.
