Exactly....this thread is now void seeing how Kobe has got Buss and the Laker organization by the balls.....I love Kobe as a player (loved him as a person too, before he messed up on Vanessa and his new born Natalia), but lets just say we swapped Kobe and MJ in the same scenario we were in with the Pistons in the Finals.....MJ would have not let us lose that series with all the resources we had.....MJ found ways to win....Kobe found ways to get himself shots.....theres the discrepancy people and until Kobe doesn't conform to winning (which is with Shaq by the way) then the Lakers organization will see dark days....even with Kobe running the show! :bang:

I will not and can't agree. Remember, Shaq said it was his ship. So long captain Shaq!!! PEACE!!! And enough with the Jordan comparisons already. This team was not built around Kobe, it was built around Shaq. And yes, I believe Kobe will make players that play around him better. He's got the leadership, he just needs a team to prove it too. If we trade Kobe and get Pierce, it'd be pretty much the same team.

Hindsight is 20/20 but LOL those trades would have crippled our franchise. So glad everything worked out the way it did.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Kobe/George for Butler, Wade, and Jones wouldn't have been the end of the world. Might've won two or three rings.
