Hopefully Phil and Rambis were doing more than just tweeting watching the game, more like plotting to take over the Lakers real soon. :man9:

I think he should make it a yearly thing - elite invitation as the third blogger at the table auctioned off, money donated to some hippie charity of his choosing.

Maybe Phil is just commenting on players he knows and coached only. I don't feel like he left Dwight out to be crafty, I think he doesn't even know Dwight and to comment on him publicly like the guys he mentioned might come across as weird.

^^^ you're under estimating Phil's genius.

He's letting Dwight know, for all that talent you have, you better bring more to impress me.

I hope somebody in the Laker brass gets through to Jim and brings this man back... even if it' only a year window to help Kobe get #6

I just see him praising his former players, they probably stay in touch and are friends to some degree.

Dwight is probably following Phil and thinking "what about me?" "Well he did mention the guys that have played for him before....hmmm"

I've always been on the side that Phil was retired and that ship has sailed but....

Phil needs to come back. He's the only coach that will be available that can steady this ship next season with Kobe out.

Jimmy needs to sack up or get out. MDA just needs to go. Mitch needs to figure out this roster.

I'm officially on the, get Phil back to LA train because he's really the only person that can get us through the mess of not having Kobe.

Kobe wasn’t going to let the Lakers miss the playoffs. We watched him go thru 3 anguishing plays-the last one devastating…

Phil Jackson....is the only person on earth that Kobe will listen to. Personally I feel like Phil wouldve definitely thought more about Kobe's well being than the stakes of winning the game, not to mention utilize other role players better. I know for SURE Phil would NEVER,ever ride Kobe for 40+ minutes. That's the huge difference btw Phil and an amateur coach like MDA.

Jim Buss needs to seriously admit that he did the Lakers a disservice, not only to the fan base but to the organization. He made the wrong moves after another. The day MDA was hired over Phil was the beginning to the end. MDA needs to go.

What if's are dumb...but I can't help but to think how if this season was coached by Phil, we wouldn't have lost those silly winningable games..(ie Philly, Magic, Kings, Raptors, Suns etc) to put us in the deep whole that we are fighting to get into the playoffs..nor would we have a ridiculous 7 man rotation.

I can't help myself. I just hate how this happened. I still haven't accepted it yet, it still hasn't sunk because Kobe made us all believe he was so indestructible. As Chris Palmer tweeted earlier...

"Every now and then a player spoils us..and each time we realize when it's too late"

my god. Devastated.

I agree completely.... But I just don't see the Lakers biting the bullet of paying the salaries of 3 head coaches next year - especially since Phil's demands probably won't be light.

As far as I remember, Phil never pulled that crap with any other team, and always hated that Pop did it. I agree and it's not just because Dwight is on our team, I wouldn't want our team doing it to another team either. It's a joke, it's not basketball, it's cheap, and something should be done with the rules to fix it.

'@NBA should consider @jadande @jkruk24 bringing back get 3 shots to make 2 to combat Hack-a-Dwight type strategy.

@ClarenceGaines2 Naismith crafted the game, so a team could not benefit from fouling. if 3-to-make-2 works reinstitute the rule.

Hmm, not sure about the 3-to-make-2 rule, but I agree teams shouldn't benefit from fouling
I also think Howard should effing learn to shoot FTs, so I'm torn..
