I know free agency has just started and deals could change, but what the hell was the lockout for again?

- Roy Hibbert max contract offer from Portland
- Eric Gordon max contract requested
- Gerald Wallace 10 million dollars a year
- Omir Asik 8 million from Houston
- Goran Dragic wants 10 million per year
- Raptors offer 10-12 million to Nash
- Kevin Garnett 3 years / 34 million

FA just started and the more things change the more things stay the same I guess.

And I'm sure there will be a ton more ridiculous contracts handed out.

Another boring/disappointing offseason on the way for us ... everybody but the Lakers seem involved in the first day of the free agency ... well no cap space and not being considered like a premier contender anymore will do that for your team

It was about stopping the domination of LA.... and ONLY LA. That seems to be what it was about.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Yep. I came to this conclusion immediately after the vetoed CP3 trade.

It was about owners getting more money. It's more than clear now. All this competetive balance, no more super teams etc. was BS.

Actually all of those laughable contracts will hurt those teams about 30% more than they would have in 2008.... Paying that much for second/third tier players actually plays into our hands if we can actually cash in on the value we have on the roster....

None of those guys are winning a championship at those prices on those teams....
