Is a few days even enough to make a difference?

Source: Ignore any and all trade talk about Pau Gasol because the Lakers landed Steve Nash by promising
him he would get to play with Gasol. Nash made it a prerequisite for passing on offers from Toronto and the Knicks that Pau would be around, the source said. Such prerequisites from an incoming star aren't that unusual -- Chris Paul made similar personnel demands as part of his agreement to be dealt to the Clippers. (In Paul's case, he wanted assurance that LAC would do whatever was necessary to retain restricted FA DeAndre Jordan.) Conceivably, once Nash gets back and actually plays with Gasol, the Lakers could continue to struggle and Nash re-thinks his position. But as of right now, one of the enticements that brought Nash to LA was the big Spaniard and the organization would have much bigger problems than they already have if they backtracked on their promise to keep Gasol in the fold. 10 minutes ago

Anybody else not miss him though? I much prefer Jamison starting, and I much prefer Hill getting the backup minutes for Dwight, both guys hustle more than Pau.

Gasol for Bargnani/Calderon
at the thought of Bargs in P&G, unfortunately, that's the one I see that's more realistic. Just be prepared to experience another level of softness.FabFourLakers wrote:Weezy wrote:If we keep Pau we keep Pau, oh well, maybe Nash can help him.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I think if you bring back a nice big along with a LEGIT back up PG...or you bring a big, an athletic 3 that can also play the 4, and a back up PG, thats a damn good package. Jamison/Hill can more than hold down the fort at the 4 spot. We really should have won the Houston game too....and i dont think pau playing would have helped us win that game.

ANYWAY. Whatever happens with Pau I hope he comes back to form soon and shuts everyone up. Either that or goes somewhere where hes respected a little more. Guy brought us back into contention after a few painful years of mediocrity and this is how we thank him. We run him out of town. Our leader disrespects him and says put your big boy pants on ( kobe should put play some defense and accept some responsibility too but all i ever hear him say is im still a bad muthaeffer....ok kobe.). Fans nickname him Gasoft.. Lame. Hes not the only person on this roster who needs to step his game up. Theres no justification to belittling a player on OUR team. Dont give me the hes being paid this that and a third talk. The contract is what it is.
Oh boy, more preaching about what bad fans we are, first we needed to leave poor Mike Brown alone, now we should be nicer to the guy making 19 million dollars a year to play basketball that's playing like he's satisfied with his career as is. You keep on hoping he returns to form, we've all been waiting since the 2011 playoffs for him to return to form, pretty much a year and a half, we're into a 3rd season of waiting for him to return to form. So yeah, good luck with that waiting and hoping. LA and it's spoiled, disrespectful fans expect more, that's just how it is.

No, it's not. Nowhere did I read that in my job description as fan when I took the job, and I'm pretty tired of being told how to be a fan. You be a fan your way, I'll be one my way. Nice that you have some perspective having left LA though, I guess it's a bad town that makes you spoiled and ungrateful or something. Not sure how that applies to me in the OC in Anaheim, or fans in Hawaii, or Spain, or Agentina, or Poland, or many of the other countries represented here that voice their opinions on Pau just as strongly.
. Forget the salaries, lets pretend its a pick up game and a dude on your team is in a slump with achy knees. Yes, players other then kobe get injured and play through pain effecting their performance. Do you demoralize him or root him on? Done.

I really hope you're wrong, because that would be an idiotic move to make. Hill is relatively cheap, you're not going to find a better player or players for that price, he hustles, he boards, he plays defense, and can score some on top of it. They will just have to find minutes for him, he should be Dwight's permanent backup and Pau should only play the starting 4, or the backup center, not both.

Anaheim is SoCal its not Canada. Laker town, still. lol at those other countries you brought up, whats your sample size 6, and all CL posters? Go anywhere else, Laker fans are basically labelled as snobby. Hell go on any NBA forum. Same can be said about other teams though. Im just not down to be a that kind of fan after this Kobe-era.
Dont give a crap about Mike Brown dont put words in my mouth, he did nothing for the Lakers whereas Pau has therefore deserves some support. Im not telling you how to be a fan im teaching you common sense. You root for your players. Forget the salaries, lets pretend its a pick up game and a dude on your team is in a slump with achy knees.
