I for one criticized pau and I won't apologize for it. He deserved every bit of criticism he was getting. The past 7 games has been a great stretch for us, mostly due to his play. Definitely didn't want him traded if he would consistently play like that, which none of us are sure of.

That has the potential of happening when a player is finally used right.....

Gasol is still our best offensive big and it hasn't been close the last few years...... people just under appreciate the small skill sets that don't always show up in their nice and tidy stats so they dismiss it.

I never said your opinion was wrong, I said you calling us out for OURS was wrong. Who's the end all be all judge here? You? The guy that called us all out and declared the Pau injury an act of "karma"?

that comment should only offend those who have been saying that the player is just done..... and there have been plenty of posters suggesting that...... if you fall in that group than I'm glad I hit my target base with the comment, if not it was not directed at you so chill.

You're pointing the finger at people who have said that this guy was hurting our team and used specifically the "addition by subtraction" idea that I've said a few times. So yes, it was directed at me. And at the time I was 100% correct in my assessment: Pau was playing like s*** and I wanted him off the team because his bull**** was negatively affecting our team. His play was atrocious and his attitude was worse and if he were gone it would have helped team chemistry almost immediately.

He changed his attitude and his play followed and I praised him for it.

I'm glad you're glad that you offended me (or any posters). I hope you understand that it's against the rules to bait people and I hope you realize that the reason I'm now addressing you is because your post. The fact that you have literally no argument against me other than to ask me to chill or to try to change the subject is very telling to your original point and how weak it was.

Real Deal is correct ... Pau wasn't giving his all, playing at a bad level and couldn't stop complaining about his role ...

I don't remember a season when both our starting PF and C were that much of cry babies ...

Pau and Dwight are breaking all the records in this "department" this season

They should hook up and play double in Tennis since they care so much about their individual career over the team success ...

But let's blame MDA for everything ...

Pau?..... Karma?.... what the hell?

Pau's worn out physically. He's not the kind of guy that "trains" for the game like so many others do and when you get into your early 30's your body changes...... and if you don't change it will catch up with you. That's what we are seeing IMO. A guy that has played pretty much year round competitive basketball for 10 years breaking down.

This injury probably will ensure that the Lakers will be stuck with him to the end of his contract and not be able to get any value from it at all other than salary relief as letting him expire won't allow us to sign anyone because of the other contracts on the books.

We really need to get whatever we can for him is it is still possible or the re-building process in a couple years is going to be brutal for the "recent" Laker's fan.....

We'll trade him next year as an expiring, no worries. That contract can be extremely valuable.

considering the makeup of this team i think they are BANG on with what's wrong with the MDA hiring and philosophy.

But hey, lets lose all our bigs and the core of what makes this roster what it is for the coach who's won NOTHING that wants to run a philosophy of ball that's proven nothing.

Don't be so sure of that. If we are competing next year and he's a part of it he won't be traded.....

This deadline and/or offseason are the highest probability IMO. This injury seems to limit that.....

Those are all big ifs. But I do agree that he needs to be traded in the offseason. Again, that's a huge expiring contract right there. Someone will want it.

There are plenty of teams who could have used Gasol by the trade-deadline and made a good push towards the playoffs..... he has value... but all was lost when he had his plantar fascia teared up.... I believe we won't see Gasol in a Laker uniform again.

If Howard leaves Pau stays, but that's really the only scenario I see Pau staying...

He's only valuable as an expiring next year, and perhaps at the trade deadline next year if he doesn't get healthy. We could also amnesty him before the tax deadline, and save a huge amount of money this year. That might be an option if it looks like the Time Warner money is going to be small this year due to us not making the playoffs.

If he comes back in 8 weeks he'll still be able to get some regular season games in, hopefully we're in the playoff picture by that point. If not I would just shut him down completely.

I really wish they would be a little more specific. Is it a complete tear, partial tear, and is he having surgery or not??? Are the doctors recommending surgery??

Wish these reports had more information in them then we could speculate what will happen more accurately.
