:disagree: DEFINATELY need to package Pau, World Peace and Ebanks... all dead weight and less than average shooters. Lakers need to get younger, faster and need to get better shooters. Keeping these 3 will get the Lakers nowhere even if PJ comes back!! :disagree:

It wouldn't be as big of a problem if Gasol wasn't paid so much. But for ~$19 mil/year, we all expect better, much, much better.

If Pau is traded, my guess would be it happens around trade deadline anyway. At that point, he is 2 months and an expiring contract. I can see a borderline 7 or 8 wanting to bring him in to play center. Atlanta would be perfect. Gasol at center, horford and the PF, that would work and that could take them to a 4 or 5 seed. Problem there though, is Josh Smith is expiring after this season, so I dont know. Josh Smith is the only logical PF that is out there, that is realistic and would make an immediate difference.

Word of advice Pau, if Phil is coming back, you might want to invest in this....

I guess I'm one of the only ones that really doesn't have a problem with how Pau is playing. He gets paid a lot yes, but that's not his fault it's what they decided to give him of course he's gonna take it. He's a 3rd option now and looked better to me last night, with Nash back and probably set free to play how he's supposed to he's probably 4th option, I still like having him on the team. Only reason I'd trade Pau is for a few quality players that actually improve the team, like a better starting SF and backup PG. I personally don't like the Josh Smith idea, I don't think it improves us, he's athletic, but he also chucks and bricks a lot, not exactly going to spread the floor, at least Pau is a threat for that and is a good passer/rebounder. I'm all for trading him to improve the team, I just can't think of any realistic scenarios, especially since he makes so much.

I'm just skeptical if any other NBA team would want to trade with the Lakers to make them even better. It's not like we're the only team who's been witnessing Pau's soft play. All the other owners must be wondering "Are we helping the Lakers YET again?" :man10: :man1:

Does noone remember Kobe's offseason comments? "Pau will be here as long as I'm here"

I don't even know why anyone would bring it up. Not gonna happen. Not to mention him being the best triangle fit on the team.

Kobe can say whatever he wants, he should learn from his mistake and not worry bout being the GM. Pau D is atrocious, any common fan can see it and when that coaches video shows it even more applauling. That Tri fit stuff was 3yrs past now, he didn't do anything for us in that Dall and series and you can see Phil was visibly frustrated with Pau. Every year for the last 3yrs we have all given Pau some sort of pass/excuse but he's done IMO, his effort isn't there and he's getting softer every year.

Pau needs to hit some open jumpshots man, hes been really struggling

http://hoopdata.com/player.aspx?name=Pau%20Gasol

32% from 16-23 feet. Considering how talented he is and nobody is even 5 feet of him he should knock down these open jumpshots at a better clip

Just watching that, "Why Mike Brown was fired", clip and seeing how lazy and horrible Gasol is on defense makes me cringe. That was just a pathetic display of defense....

And I'm sure if that guy did another video of just Pau, it would be worse.

You should replace Defense with Efense.

Putting D next to Pau's name is injustice.

These are the guys Pau has guarded this year and what they did against him.

Elton Brand - 8 points, 3/10 FG.
LeMarcus Aldridge - 19 points, 9/20 FG.
Blake Griffin - 15 points, 6/15 FG.
Jason Maxiell - 8 points, 3-7 FG.
Paul Milsap - 7 points 2-7 FG.
David Lee - 10 points, 3-10 FG.

Total - 67 points, 26-69 FG.

Average - 11.1 points, 37.6 FG%.

Look at all that information you got from the box score, I'm glad they have that tool available for you to give such an in depth analysis of what Pau does on defense.....

Could you go back to that box score feature, which by the way is packed with all the information you need to make a solid case for Pau's defensive ability, and tell me how many rotations he's messed up not only this season, but last season? How many rebounds he's given up by standing and watching? How many open layups other teams have gotten because he's failed to step in? Does it tell you about him having no lateral quickness to defend the pick and roll or the more athletic 4's in the game?

While you gather all that information up from the box score, I'll go back to watching the actual games, the videos of him CLEARLY being a liability on defense and then we will reconvene and you will tell me the basic, Pau held this dude to so and so from the field......end of your argument, and I will give you what you are supposed to see with your eyes that a box score will never tell you.

Ohh and.....Yea Pau is horrible defensively :man10: :man10: :man10: :man10: :man10: :man10:

Lol, looks like Lakers fans always have something to whine about.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

I does seem like hes lost 3 or 4 steps recently, hes just slow, where he used to be agile and mobile. He used to have a deadly mid range shot that really kept teams honest, he doesnt anymore. I think he might be banged up, and unless we can trade him for a clear upgrade I still think hes a big asset to this team; however, hes not the offensive juggernaut he once was clearly.
