Agreed. He needs time to get back in shape and rhythm, as well as get back on the same page as his teammates. The sooner the better.

Gasol is on Lakers' active list but not suiting up tonight. He will play Sunday vs. Sacto or, more likely, Monday at PHX.

Maybe he was just practicing his layups?
You do know that in order to have a good touch around the rim, you need to practice layups, bank shots etc..
If all you do is dunk everything you end up having horrible Kwame Brown level touch around the rim
