Even if Mitch does think that, do it anyway since hardly anyone else thinks he can.

17th pick may land us a McDermott or someone along those lines. If we got out of this draft with Wiggins and McDermott, I'd pee myself. Sign Lowry in the offseason. Love next offseason. We got the beginnings of something special.

And yet another deft escape by the always amazing Pau-dini!
Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”

We always wanted him to be more of a killer...a Black Swan type.

Uh, dude is a killer. No matter how many times you think you get rid of him, he keeps coming back for more

:bang: Why is this guy still a Laker? This isn't 2008-2009. Having him team up with Kobe ain't going to win us anything in 2015. I wonder what happened. If the team actually wanted to keep him or if they were just too greedy. I am guessing it's the former.

He ain't done yet. He's going to drag out his FA while we hold his luggage (Bird Right's), while he decides on his new team and we sit on our thumbs the whole time.

Looks like none of the better teams wanted him enough...I genuinely thought that a team would see him as someone who was worth bringing in and hoping he could roll back the years for a couple months.

I feel bad for him because at this stage of your career you don't want to be playing in this situation

The Lakers did what they had to. If we traded Pau for peanuts, it wouldn't have gotten us anywhere. I think the FO is playing on the leverage that they want to keep Pau.

Then we'll use it to look into a sign & trade for K-Love or someone else.

I'm not surprised. 19 million dollars is difficult to move. Indy was only able to move Granger's 14 million dollar contract at the last minute. And it was to a team (Philly) that was below the league mandated minimum salary.

If a report comes out, we could have done that with Pau, sending him to Philly, but declined because we didn't want to risk losing Turner at the end of the season, I'm stone cold stunning everyone associated with the Lakers.

The rumors have been making it clear that the Lakers wanted a draft pick or a long term contract they could build around for the future.

Indy just wanted Turner and that other dude. No draft picks. Much easier for Philly to do the deal.

Why do we have to keep this guy? I appreciate what hes done and get that hes now apart of Laker history, and who knows might have his jersey in the rafters someday. At this point in his career he is completely useless on a championship team. He is too soft defensively to play center and too slow to play power forward. Let him go to a lottery team and put up 17 and 9 on 43 % shooting while giving up a layup drill.

We finally get a chance to clear up some cap space and get his contract off the books. I really hope we are not suckered into keeping him. Then again Mitch loves to give out insanely stupid deals out of loyalty. We have seen it with Walton, Fisher, and now even Kobe.

Can you imagine waking up and reading this headline? Pau stays a Laker, 3 years 30 million. It would not surprise me.

This.

The Lakers are playing the long game and that's fine.

Ramona Shelbourn just said that Phoenix NEVER OFFERED a 1st! Not even the Pacers' 1st. So that move would have been a REAL salary dump with absolutely nothing in return. Literally.

Trading Hill would have made some sense, but if we couldn't get a pick from anyone then I'm fine with keeping him too. I'd rather have the ability to re-sign some of these guys than to guarantee that we have another bad team next season if we strike out on free agents.

Thusly, we should have moved Kaman to clear the tax line.

I'm surprised GS didn't want a backup big for the ailing Bogut, they had a TPE to use. NOLA dropped out, didn't expect anything from them. ATL got Jamison and the Nets didn't want to spend $17M AND give up a pick.

I will withhold final judgement until the draft…. if Pau is still haunting our team at that point then I'm with Doc….. stunning

One thing is for sure, Pau will help us tank because he's going to play like crap knowing he isnt going nowhere.

Pau's been playing well for about 4 to 8 minutes a game with 4 to 8 minutes of OK play followed by 4 to 8 minutes of WTF play… A change in that won't make much of a difference….

Pau's defense and rebounding effort have been helping us lose for a few years now, I expect that to continue.
