At 1 point I thought he might take a paycut to stick around & win more with Kobe + whoever we sign next summer, but he really has no reason to show that kind of loyalty. Might aswell cash in & get what we can before he gets hurt.

He has little to none value right now and imo since Summer 2012 ... last time we could get 2-3 solid players for him was back at the 2012 March deadline .... but Lakers FO obsession to get a star in return killed this possibilty .

I sure hope the Pau experience ends at the end of this season .... time to move on .... it is time to move on since May 2011

Probably needless to say, but I'm sick of D' Antoni's sarcasm. Pau made a good freaking point. Play Hill more minutes, specifically at the freaking 4 where he belongs. That doesn't deserve a stupid come back. That deserves consideration.

D' Antoni's always been a jerk. Can't stand the guy. I'm not saying Pau should stay by the way and taking sides. I just don't like this garbage from D' Antoni. It's disrespectful.

To me it's pretty clear that Hill needs to be receiving big mins. Kaman deserves more too. I know MDA has a stiffy for making unknown/fall off guys into rotation pieces but he needs to scale back Shawne's role to a role player.

I think Pau and kaman together is pretty good as the read each other well, can both play high-low, have shooting touch, and can pass.

I'd like to see:

Kaman (24)/ Hill (12)/ Pau (12)
Pau (18)/ Wes (12)/ Hill (18)/ Williams
X (26)/ Young (10)/ Wes (12)
Blake (12)/ Meeks (18)/ Young (18)
Nash (22)/ Farmar (22)/ Blake (4)

Oh I agree completely, I can't stand 'Antoni's self-deprecating humor in deflecting real questions and I can't stand his sarcasm or jerk responses to players comments. Phil would poke at players in the media too, but not like this, mostly I guess because Phil's players didn't need to tell him how to do his job.

F D'Antoni...contribute 2 titles...contribute anything first before calling a Lakers legend a "fan" and belittling the Spaniard continuously.

We can all agree that Pau has dropped off. Some due to age/injury, but some certainly due to how he's being utilized. Give Adelman or Pop Pau and I'm sure the Spaniard would look much better.

Oh horse bleep. Yeah right Pau has always when younger and in his prime been a Dennis Rodman / Jordan Hill type player. Not who he is, aside from great rebounding when younger and not bad now.

Maybe. But I doubt PJ would ever say something like that about Pau since it's an apples to oranges, dumb thing to say. And PJ is a LOT smarter when it comes to dealing with reporters in his face than Dan.

He gave pau what he wanted. More time with both bigs, Pau was awful and proved his points that Pau can't play with those guys more because Pau doesn't do dirty work like the rest of the roster. Dantoni made a good statement

At some point its on Pau. He quit on Phil to the point Phil hit him and started scream man up, got the team single handedly swept by Dallas with that stupid [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] game 1 foul, and because the whole team helped as he had Dirk shooting over 60% vs him just like Landry was killing him. He played C under brown with the second unit and didnt do anything. He was used poorly to start last year and embarrassed by being benched.

But as of right now he's got everything he's passively [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] about before right in his hands. He wants to prove he's worth big money, prove he's a star, show why he should have the O ran thru him in the post, prove he deserved to be given captain stripes which Phil and even Mike Brown wouldn't give him, and show Kobe how there should be team ball and ball movement ... Well he's fn sucked. He's the one choosing to take those stupid jumpers, as Hill and Kaman have no problem scoring near the rim. Hill and Kaman have no problem contesting shots, running the floor, and catching the ball. They don't stand ina spot on d for 13 seconds at a time and watch, they don't stop running down the court, and they don't pasively [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]. Paus going to whine some way and you know it, it's like Amare said, Kobe made him. Without Kobe Pau is the guy who is 0/16 in the playoffs, got traded for Kwame, and was called out for quitting and faking being hurt in Memphis as his back miraculously healed when he was traded to la after three cross country flights. Paus not worth the 20 mil, he's not leading, his O isn't there without Kobe constantly kicking him in the [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] and then patting his head saying that's be good boy, and his d is non existent

Face facts Pau isn't an all star, Pau isn't a leader, and Paus not even bringing effort ... That's all on Pau, it's been 3 coaches and **** load of excuses ... It's just Pau

Pau mailing it in already. Maybe he doesn't have his wind yet, but I think the fans have developed "giving him the benefit of the doubt"-fatigue.

Pau is not doing the job right now, I'm sorry. In this case, I think MDA was actually right. He's supposed to be a leader and the best player on the team. Where is the defensive effort? Where are those strong post moves? He wanted to get the ball in the post, now he gets there, backs out and shoots fadeaways. And he says he's not ready for a paycut, that he's an all-star player?

Hmmmm.... I don't think so. And you know how much Ive always defended him. But that old Pau is gone. There is no fire in him anymore. Or, if there is, I don't see it.

Yeah I am sure without Bynum & Howard and moved Pau back under the post will greatly increased his field goal efficiency.

And Pau Gasol is giving us 40.9% FG so far this season ! :mad1:

The only time we actually see the good Pau is when he's playing for Spain. If he wants to stay with the Lakers he needs to be willing to take a pay cut, perhaps a significant pay cut.

^^ Pau staying is a scary thought. As we rebuild we need to rid ourselves of the old guys as the stunt the growth of guys that can help us in a few years.

If he has value I'd trade him right now.

^ If we could get the right players in return I'd be willing to trade him too, but the chance of getting players that can both help us moving forward and not affect our cap space (at least not too much) are very slim.

If they can't get Lebron next season, the cap space isn't worth much. They won't be geting melo, either (not that he would make a huge difference). Who does that leave as a FA?

The season afer next may have more possibilities.

But in the wake of the new CBA, I just don't think building through FA is the way to go. They need to utilize the draft better. They need to draft better. IMO, holding out cap space for that "elite" FA is doomed to failure.

This team needs to re-stock. They should have traded Howard to a team that could have give them draft picks plus useful young talent. They probably should have done the same with Pau.

Kobe will make this group respectble through sheer will, but that won't be enough.
