Trade them all. I want losses. Getting a top draft pick would be amazing for us. Franchise player for cheap with cap space? Sign me up. We don't need Melo, and I don't want any of these free agents. Build it up, wait for Irving.

Trade who all for who? I don't see any team in the NBA lining up to get any player on our roster right now besides maybe Nick Young. Jordan Hill, maybe. Jodie Meeks has an outside shot at some attention... I don't see any other team wanting any other assets.

And in order to trade them, we'd need to take players back. Why would we do that? Hill should either stay -- or leave if we can't afford him. But we need that type of player. Same goes for Young. We need a bench scorer, and he's really good at creating his own offense. We already have guys we need. The problem is, some of them are hurt, and some are starting and should be coming off the bench instead.

Mike Bresnahan ‏@Mike_Bresnahan 34m

Main reason Lakers + Suns haven't agreed on Gasol trade: Lakers want better draft pick than Suns' current position (17th overall).

idk if this is indeed true, but if it is....Mitch most Lakers fans are totally okay with that. Let's get it done.

If true I think we're being picky. So we get the 17th or so, add that to the high pick we should have if we keep on losing and that's a great draft for us. Pau is freakin injured right now, he can't sustain runs of good play for too long before he breaks down again, trade him already. Also, if they'd have traded him sooner and reports were true we could have have Dragic, Scola, and Martin, so the Lakers passed up on his highest value, now we have to take what we can get that doesn't hurt the free agency plan, this doesn't.

Gasol will play well with Phoenix. He won't be asked to do too much plus they have that medical staff that has been known to work wonders with the old and decrepit.

I wish we could get our pick back in 2015. We have to suck next season and be in the top 5 to keep it.

Lottery pick (ours) + 17th are fine. Get it done. Except if Mitch truly thinks he can do better.

I agree with Doc...get our 2015 pick back and hope that they include either the Wiz or the Minny pick.

In terms of the Suns pick, you would think that pick would fall into the 20s with Pau there. Sure, there will be a transition period, but with Bledsoe possibly coming back, that Suns team could make a late run to better their playoff positioning.

I mean, anything from 15-29 aren't really worth noting unless you truly do your scouting. Unless Mitch really has someone on his radar that he thinks may drop to 15-20 and wants it badly.

Eric Pincus ‏@EricPincus 1m

As I mentioned the other day - I'm not entirely confident we see Pau Gasol play another game with the Lakers

@EricPincus 45s

Pau Gasol is actually hurt, re: groin - it's not a bad injury - but remember Luol Deng had an Achilles injury before his trade to Cavs

Yes, Pincus is saying that even though Pau has a legit injury it is still likely in his opinion that Pau will be traded.

You gotta take Pincus's word... he has very well connections within the Lakers brass.... it is good news that the recent timetable for Pau's injury won't affect trade talks... I hope this whole thing comes to a resolve soon.

Kevin Ding:
With trade deadline Feb. 20, Pau might have played his last game as a Laker. Or not. But Lakers are more motivated to deal than before.

damn we got 200 new pages since Pau got injured :man1:
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
