He's rusty. Seemed to move a little better early on, but then... played no D. Nothing new.

rusty. the loss had little to do with him. that one reverse layup attempt made me sad, though.

It's his first game back. But yeah, his D left tons to be desired. Not a bad offensive first half, but MDA should have played Earl Clark in the second half. Especially since Pau was gassed and Jamison went down with that wrist sprain.

Sadly, this.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that too. I was yelling at the TV (Pau) to just jump, that's all he needed to do in order to contest it but he was slow coming over to help and never got off the floor.

Slow is the proper word to describe Gasol. He's slow in practically everything he does, whether it's rotating to contest a shot, going for a rebound, or even deciding whether to shoot or pass.

The desire is just not there, and his reservations about MDA and the system are certainly only exacerbating his lack of motivation and conditioning.

I can't blame Pau considering he's saving himself for Eurobasket whenever. Gotta set priorities. Cash that check and live off that Laker paycheck on his year round LA vacation. Siesta

Needs to go along with Piece of Crap ... rusty or not , we've seen this type of performance all season long ... passed up open shots , blew shots at the rim with his new Scola like athleticism and can't defend

You don't usually miss 6 weeks & come right back out like nothing happened.. We saw some flashes early of why Pau can be so valuable to the team. As he rounds into game shape we should see more of that. That 2 man game with Dwight has the potential to be a staple of our offense.

What's lacking with Pau is between the ears, between the ribs, and between the legs.

 The thought of him never being associated with this franchise any longer is almost orgasmic. My hatred of Pau is as strong as ever as a player and I wish nothing but the worst for him in that regard. ROT IN BASKETBALL HELL PAU!!!! Disgraceful that this guy still gets to wear a Laker jersey... He sucked pre-injury, he's sucked since 2010 and he still sucks now. The quicker this guy goes down again or gets the boot the better

No one will trade for that contract nor the Lakers willing to absorb the same amount or they'll be penalized a year after. Teams will wait for Amnesty while the Lakers will let that 19 M expire.

We may be able to get some value for him but it will either be in the form of another bad contract and a young player.

But I did hear the possibility that the "expiring contracts" are not as enticing as they used to be and that the weight of that contract (essentially 2.5 times the 19 million with taxes) could make ownership think about just dumping him. Remote but not completely out of the realm of possibility.

the train is being directed by Pau himself.... we're just hopping aboard.

Maybe I was naive to think what didn't work this year would miraculously now start to. But he is just the worst fit PF possible for this team.

I've had my bouts of Pau Hate, especially during Phil's last year. That being said, I just don't see what people saw in the last game to hate all that much.

The offense looks good with Pau in, and he is able to rebound and fight for tip ins better than any other backup for Dwight.

Lakers are better when he's active, period.

my biggest issue with Pau is on defense, nothing changes when Dwights out and Pau is in as a C, pretty much a layup drill just like when we didn't have Pau.

This.

I mean Jeez. The guy comes back from 6 weeks off, admittedly still in pain, and he's just absolutely torn apart? Why? What did you all expect for Christ's sake? He looked like he hadn't played in a while and wasn't comfortable on the floor. Dwight comes back early from an injury and we applaud him at the start of the season even when he wasn't looking great. Pau tries the same and we dump on him.

It's not like he was the reason we lost to the lowly f***ing Wizards.
