Wow, what a game. Vintage Pau.

However, why does a 7-1 guy does a pump fake 8 feet from the basket, with 2 on the clock? :man10:

No. Sorry. Need young players for those $20M. Pau's value is high now. Have to capitalize on that, before he gets hurt again.

He stepped up as a leader and did it all from what I saw. Another triple-double for your PF? Wow. But no, sorry Kobe, Pau makes too much to be a 3rd banana. If the NBA had no cap and we had unlimited money to work with, sure I'd keep him though.

The dude is going to be crucial going forward. He's our only source of consistent offense right now. And that doesn't mean he has to make shots, but he creates for others and that's what we need.

Fantastic game from him. This is a Pau we haven't really ever seen. The facilitator Pau. It's pretty damn impressive. Hopefully he keeps this mojo going into the playoffs.

Its crazy that he can play somewhat bad and still put up a triple double.

i thought he was passive. made some good reads on defense to get some blocks and stops but was mostly average. on O wasnt looking for his shot at all and pump faking etc. but when it counted he stepped up and dwight really covered up for him on d. that shot that pau got blocked summed up his mentality but the fadeaway made up for it.

good game. imagine if he was hitting his shots and being aggressive when he needed to be. guy has so much skill its just his mental state that differs game by game thats holding him back. no without kobe he cant be passive

Got off to a very rocky start offensively and some of his decision making was questionable (passes/turned down shots) but aside from that he had a monster game covering all the statistic categories. Big win in large part to our frontcourt and they're ability to play on the floor together (who'd a thunk it MDA)

Again...once Pau hits the paint, something good happens.

Whether it's a kick out, an interior pass, or a jumper or hook.

Where the hell has this version of Pau been all year... man, if he played like this since the start, this season would've been an entirely different story.

when we decided to run the offense through pau on the horns good things happened. we did it like 5 times in a row and scored or got fouled. dude was bad at first but really stepped up in the 4th and OT. hes gotta keep it up and hopefully well do it all game from now on

On top of being Kobe-less (still not used to that), seeing Pau as our dominant go-to-guy is a treat to watch. Good game, bravo.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

With Nash out, it needs to be Pau at the free throw line creating offense. That's the extent of our pseudo-perimeter playmaking.

amazing game from him tonight.

Yet as I watched him Monday, I could not help think how little it mattered and how right he is. He is not fading into the shadows. He does not know how to go out that way.[.]

From here on out, the ball needs to run through Gasol on the high-post/horn with plenty of time on the shot clock to operate.

It was obvious the initial game plan was to run things through Howard in the post. The post-up is not his natural game.

Glad the players/d'antoni adjusted at half-time and ran more plays through the spaniard instead.

yeah, how many guys have ever had triple doubles that included 20 rebounds? Not too many, I'm sure. Wilt had at least one. Who else?

He is in all likelihood gone next season, but for now, there's no way the Lakers make it without him.
I shall be telling this with a sigh

Still needs to be more agressive at times , it's nice to want to make the right play but you need to go to work and put points on the board when your team is struggling ... I wouldn't double him if I were the other team since passing is the only thing he has in mind ...

That being said he still had a monster game, his effort was great in the 2nd half
