Oh I see, makes sense, because when I saw "good stuff" I was like "are we reading different reports?".

No it was just refreshing to read something from a Laker insider that wasn't speculation on Dwight Howard or thoroughly disappointing roster news like potentially keeping Morris for no good reason.

I don't think for a second that the Lakers plan on having Blake or Meeks in the starting lineup. I think they try to re-sign Howard, try to move Gasol, then if they can amnesty Artest. While that's going on, they should be on the phone with Collison, Brand, Morrow, Wright, etc. and I think we have a shot at landing some of those guys.

If Howard comes back, we'll field a team of shooters around him.

If he doesn't... well we weren't going anywhere anyway this season.

I think WE are thinking that way because it makes sense, but I'm scared the Lakers are thinking the way Ding reported. I'm scared it's 2014 plan or bust, and when LeBron doesn't come here it WILL be a bust.

Well those types of guys are minimum guys, so I'm not worried about them affecting our 2014 plans that much.

What worries me more is that the 2014 plan might be to try to get into the lottery. :man10:

Best case scenario if Dwight leaves you trade pau for a 2014 lottery pick giving us 2 chances at wiggins or parker

No team is going to give up their 2014 draft picks. If it is supposed to be the deepest draft in awhile, with this CBA, no team is going to give up a top 15 pick for Pau.

As for the 2014 plan, no thanks. That's hopes and dreams.

Humm.. cleveland surprises everyone by taking Bennett with the 1st overall pick...
Gasol for Bennett.. Gasol for Thompson?

Bennett is that D'Antoni stretch 4...

Yes yes yes. Would like that very much. Would need Jose Reyes or another piece to match salaries. But yes - would like that package.

I don't think we are trading pau to get into this draft. Something would have happened already

If it was JUST Lee for Gasol then the Lakers were smart not to pull that trigger. That contract is beyond toxic.

Lee does not make sense here. Terrible contract, no jumpshot, undersized, no defense.

Only thing he has is hustle.

Maybe the Gasol for Lee talks are part of a bigger plan for a Dwight S&T.. 1 of Barnes or Klay + expirings isn't enough for Dwight.. Lee isn't enough for Gasol.. Bridge the gap by combining them. Dwight & Pau for Barnes, Klay, Lee, expiring contracts. It wouldn't be 1 of my trade ideas if we didn't attempt to get Kevin Love so flip Klay + Lee for Love + Dwill2.

It was last summer that these talks happened, not this summer.

Guess I should read the article next time :man10:

But Pau's value is higher now than it was then, so the potential is still there.

This is starting to get ridiculous.

You people think any team will just take Pau for whatever the hell we want. It really boggles my mind some of the trade proposals I see in this thread and on this forum. I mean seriously not even the dumb BSPN writers make suggestions that are this stupid.

I'd rather trade Pau for 1 or 2 role players than be wrapped up in David Lee at 15 million for the next 3 years.

it's downright hilarious how some of you think that teams will give us a lottery pick in exchange for pau
:man10:

i mean yeah we're pretty spoiled as lakers fans but that is way over the top. the pau to LA trade was truly one of a kind and something we probably won't see ever again. if this was 2009 pau, we could easily get a lottery pick for him but this is 2013 pau who's rapidly declining

some of you guys are on that dope,

why the hell would anyone trade for pau? i guess for an expiring but that would be during the season.

hes staying, nobody wants him especially not for draft picks, and we cant get anyone in return that is of equal value,

might as well stick with him and have him sign in for cheap, that would be our best bet, his skill sets are still very valuable.

him and kobe went on a stretch last season, while dwight just stales the offense, if PJ is really coming back as a consultant i hope he just punks MDA to make him the initiator down low and have him create for everyone (i mean have nash and kobe too but he'd be the playmaker down low)

no ones going to take him. lets just see where we can go forward with him

Isn't it too quiet on the Pau front? No trade rumors, no quotes... Maybe it's a sign that something's about to go down. I don't think we should keep him for this season. Time to move on.

Could be, but I think it's more likely nothing is going on with Pau. Reports would suggest we won't decide what to do with him until Dwight makes a decision.
